Yeh it is, the PPVs no having nothing on them, but thats because promoters realised enough people will pay £15 for any old sh1t if they sell it/hype it enough. Wonder how many people signed up for the £30 offer no Boxnation last weekend
These were just before my time sadly. How did it work when the UK card ended and there were still hours to go until the US card kicked off? Did the pundits just sit around chatting for a few hours?
Yes a bit. But the British bill tended to be a bit later, and a few of the American undercard fights were thrown in to kill some time. I think a couple of times a British bill would be on SKY Sports then the American bill would be PPV.
When ppv first started over here, there were a lot of complaints, quite rightly at the time about having to pay extra when you already paid for sky sports but in hindsight you did get some quality fight nights with world class undercards. Compare it to now, you are basically paying for the main event with mostly **** undercards, its a rip off as even a lot of the main events aint exactly box office materiel these days. I do look back fondly on the 90's/early 00's fight nights, starting at 8/9pm til 6am the sunday morning.........work was a killer on the mondays though oooft!!
