Maybe and maybe not. I don't think that it's incumbent on PBC to pay any monies back because of the lawsuit. They are still bound by the original set of contracts. Plus I think that they are dug in pretty good with their programming because they are putting on great fights and the viewership is expanding to real decent and profitable numbers. They are on their way and if the funds dry up from Waddle and Reed, there will plenty other investors more than happy to jump on the band wagon because it's a winning hand.

 

The guy who approved a $1bn spend on PBC, 6 months later, resigned and took a job with one of Haymon's companies. Sounds legit.

From what little I've read, I don't see this lawsuit going anywhere. These ****heads who hand their cheese over to investment firms always expect it to be free money, and throw their toys out the pram when it doesn't go their way. Well, guess what? It's gambling, plain and simple.
It seems likely to me that there were some nefarious goings on, but that's not what the complaint is.
Some investments go wrong, and these companies are well protected against accusations of 'neglect'. It's very hard to prove the guy wasn't doing what he thought best with the client's money.

Waddell and Reed has over 100 billion in assets under management....so I'm failing to see how this legal case in anyway would affect PBC

 

Yeah. That was the 'nefarious dealings' I was referring to, but I missed that it was actually in the complaint filed. Smoking gun, right there.

 

Another thing people seem to overlook is that the PBC investment is small potatoes to a firm like Waddell and Reed.

I wouldn't be shocked if some 20 something year old, a couple of years out of grad school is the point man for Waddell and Reed on this investment!

PBC hasn't expanded. They've shrunk and their ratings are getting lower with each outing. Their fighters fight once, maybe twice a year if they're lucky. Investors are not stupid. They invested to get a 5x return, not a complete loss.

 

You do know PBC's funding is limited, right? Did you really think W/R would stake their entire company on PBC? :rofl
