You must not like Ali's style then...When Larry was hurt or down, he would always come out swinging.

I never thought Holmes was boring. Watching him jab was entertaining enough, because it was a real punch. I wouldn't even call him that defensive. He would sometimes just put his arms in the way, and return fire.

Yes Holmes was THAT good to be mentioned in the top five, but seriously....1? That is going a little far.

OK then. Name the "15 or 20" fighters who you'd rate above Holmes from an ATG viewpoint?

Honestly, while PBF is a good boxer, he is not exactly a genious. He carries out what his body allows him to and his trainers tell him to.

Pretending that his oppinion should carry special weight would be like asking an Afghani private soldier to give his views on the war in the middle-east and the complex and intrigate reseaons, effects et cetera of the conflict in a broader temporal perspective.

No matter if he was the best private soldier there - it would still be ridiculous assuming that his oppinion should carry any special weight - what so ever!

    Yep, a sad sight.

A prime number 5 or 6 alltime great ,versus the back-from-retirement, over-the-hill, parkinson-debilitated, greatest heavyweight of all time.

    Ali.
    Louis.
    Marciano.
    Foreman.
    Lewis.
    Holmes.
    Liston.

All of the above (at prime ) could have beaten any version of Mike.

You know **** all about heavyweight boxing and its history.

Ernie Shavers? :rofl :nut Larry holmes beat him twice!
Max Scmeling, please, i give him credit for beating Louis but he wouldn't have even been remembered if he hadn't won in that fight.

Only a few of those fighters such as Louis,Marciano and Ali rank up there with the title defences, dominance and years on the top.
Holmes is easily a top 5 heavyweight!
