His corner stopped it if I'm not mistaken. And Chavez iss maybe 1/100th the fighter Duran is, so that doesn't really mean a goddamn thing. Floyd could not pot-shot and stick with a fighter like Duran in the pocket as he does so often to others, as he's not only facing a m ore powerful, aggressive fighter this time, but a more skilled inside fighter, and a relentless one.
Mayweather wins this one. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
GREAT post ...even then though this fight i still can see a 50/50 to me Floyd in that ring is scary smart people and comes prepared like no other...Duran is a an ATG i understand but he is still beatable and i cant see how he land slides the best of our era at his best weight...the fight in reality is 50/50.......i'll lean towards floyd because of his versatility but i wouldnt bet anything on it.
Interesting fight. I think the outcome depends on the Duran that shows up. If its the guy who beat SRL iin their first fight I would go with Duran, however PBF would make it interesting.
Are we all on the same page here? At Lightweight?? Sorry, but I dont see anyone head to head, prime for prime or whatever against Duran at Lightweight!
Duran would introduce PBF to some **** the boy hasn't even had nightmares about. PBF has not been in the ring with any fighter who even lives in the same universe as a prime Roberto Duran.
duran is a pressure fighter, probably the best one of all time. but mayweather is at his best against pressure fighters. he wasn't at his best in the first fight agaisnt castillo but he still won, signs of a true champion. in the second castillo was totally outboxed. against corrales he knocked him down 5 times and put on a great show. hatton is a pressure fighter and he got KTFO. duran would cause more problems than all of them but prime against prime mayweather takes a close decision.
I think people are forgetting Duran was human and didn't fight a perfect fight each and every time out. I'm sure many of you couldn't even name, let alone describe many of Duran's lightweight opponents and performances that gave him his reputation. Don't let a few performances project themselves onto your rationale and prevent a real plausible analysis.
No im not saying that you moron. Didnt you read my post, I said you can NEVER do that with fighters. You can never say fighter A beat fighter B so of course because fighter C is better then A fighter C will beat fighter B. Sillyest **** I've ever heard. Winky Wright drew Jermaine Taylor so cause Hopkins lost 2 times that their fight would be a tough very close affair. When in actuality Hopkins won quite handily. Or when Roberto Duran went 15 rounds with Marvin Hagler at middleweight that he'd dominate his fight with Hearns because Marvin Hagler knocked Hearns out in 3, well in reality Hearns knocked Duran the **** out in 2. So where does that leave your lovely logic? But you dont understand or you never saw the fights. The injury to Floyds shoulder was a big part of why he was uncomfortable during the fight. In the second fight Mayweather cruised. Obviously Floyd has never been pressured by a skilled fighter since. :-(
What the fight please. The fight wasnt nearly that close, the judges were trying to compensate for the 1st fight, so awarded Castillo rounds he shouldnt have got. It wasnt close from round 8 on, and Floyd was dominating all the way up to the final bell against a clearly discouraged Castillo.
