Peak Wilder VS. Peak Chisora

Chisora's style, while seemingly good against Wilder in that he's fighting a messy inside fight, involves taking a lot of punishment to implement his game plan. This is not good against a prime Wilder.

 

Chisora would have beat Wilder up until Wilder landed one big shot to KO Chisora.

 

I think prime Wilder dents his skull in with a right cross.

 

Wilder is all wrong for Chisora and his predictable march forward style,Chisora will try as always but at some point Wilder detonates a huge bomb to end the contest !

Chisora, probably - he'd always start strong and Wilder wasn't durable enough to take the power.

If Wilder can find time and space to wind up a full power bomb then he can win, but Chisora doesn't tend to give you that - and Wilder doesn't throw anywhere near as hard without a big opening.

Put it all together and I suspect Chisora was durable enough to see out the first half of the bout without being too likely to get hit with the big bomb... And I don't see Wilder being durable enough to still be in there in later rounds when Chisora gets more open and more susceptible to the bomb.

 

Wilder would surely connect with that right hand at some point with how hittable Chisora was.

 

Wilder in his prime was actually pretty durable.

Wilder was proven to be a borderline fraud, although he took a lot of punishment in the second and third Fury fights.

A shot to bits Wilder would struggle against Chisora but I could see prime Wilder lasting the distance at least.

 

Was he?!

I don't remember him surviving significant punishment from any proven big punchers... Ortiz nearly stopped him (and would've if not for A-side privilege), and his power was decent rather than earth shattering. Fury did stop him despite not being particularly powerful.

It's just another part of the myth - he wasn't made of glass, but he wasn't all that durable either.

Chisora certainly had the power to stop him.
