Cotto was so magnificent in defeating a prime Martinez that he should have no problem in defending his newly won crown against a well deserved challenger such as Golovkin.

You never boxed before in your life.

No one said Martinez was in his prime, nut sniffer.
    Cotto doesn't need GGG.

I'm going to say this again: Martinez was overrated. His best wins are over weight-drained Paul Williams and alcoholic Pavlik. He struggled against Euro-level Macklin and Murray.

But he has beaten legitimate middleweight contenders - get this - AT the ACTUAL middleweight limit. Imagine that!

Meanwhile, Cotto is looking to pick on some red-head who never fought at middleweight, while viable contenders wait in the wings as Cotto disgraces the rich long history of the highly regarded middleweight crown.

Cotto, and all of his fan base the world over, should be disappointed.

Isn't it typically said that Canelo can barely make 154, only fights there for an advantage, and should actually be at 160?? Pretty sure I've heard this many times, that's why him coming in at 152 against Floyd was considered draining him by many, not just Pac****s.

Who cares? None of this changes anything I said.

Cotto is targeting a red-head who is not a fellow middleweight champion, not a ranked middleweight contender, and has never even fought a single round as a middleweight.

He's disgracing the middleweight crown, and fans seem excited about it?

It's no wonder boxing is viewed as a complete joke in the US with idiots like Cotto, Floyd, and Pacquiao ruining the direction of the sport with their BS.

It matters when you make it sound as though Cotto is only interested on picking on someone smaller than himself when if fact Canelo is bigger.

No! That was never my point, and I have no idea how you interpreted it as such.

Where did I say he was picking on someone smaller?

In case you still aren't getting my point - it's simple.

Cotto is supposedly the middleweight champion! He should defend against ranked middleweights or fellow middleweight title holders. Not someone who has no belt at 160, is unranked at 160, and has never fought a single round as a middleweight.

It's a total disgrace that fans are excited about this so-called "middleweight title bout".

Why should Cotto's fans be disappointed? It's the best big money fight for him.

Any time a Mexican and a Puerto Rican fight each other, it's a big deal.

Dude be quiet!! Cotto-Canelo is the 2nd biggest fight in the world to be made right now! Howdare you talk like Cotto shouldnt fight him!!

Also you talkng about Cotto should fight somebody at MW etc etc. for big fights you should be able to fight anybody out of the weight class! do you know how boring boxing would be if ppl didnt move up in weight and go straight for the champ?? Cotto had never fought a MW before bro, so by your standards Martinez should had never fought him. could you imagine if Floyd never had the ***** to move up and go straight for Castillo (lineal LW champ) the DLH (154 champ) without a tune up! Canelo dont need no tune up and Cotto is fighting a top 2 154lber so theres no problme with mega fights dummy!

Obviously it's the usage of the words "pick on" that always used in association with a big person starting a fight a with a smaller person. You should probably stray from such sayings if don't want to be interpreted as such. Canelo can fight at middle, and Cotto is smaller than Canelo, so I'm not really sure how you figure there is "picking on" going on, by Cotto. All Cotto himself has is one fight at middle, it's not like he's grown into it, I can't see where you're going with this other than you want Cotto to fight three G, just say that, because there is no "picking on" point to make.

I think you make great points as well, too bad they all just fall on the deaf ears of presumable haters.
