Who is making a big deal about it? That's the only fight anyone will ever remember him for because it's the only time he fought a name opponent. It's just stating a simple fact

Hatton fought 3 guys who were consensus top 5 P4P opponents and went 1-2. Gave Mayweather one of the toughest fights of his career and actually made him work for a win which is rare.

Witter has fought one name opponent, nobody ever cared about him and nobody cares now.

If you want to know why, it's pretty obvious. Hatton, at least when he was coming up, had a crowd pleasing, relentless and aggressive style. He also had charisma and a style and attitude that represented his city so he got a huge following. Witter's style has always been **** to watch and he's always come off as a pompous ass. When you lack charisma and a crowd pleasing style you have to make it to the top the hard way, by earning it. Guys like Hatton can get a big following without beating anyone, guys like Witter can't. Tough ****, that's boxing, that's the way it has always been.

But instead of working his way up the rankings and forcing top guys to fight him so he could make a name for himself, Witter just cried about Hatton without doing anything. Sans Judah he fought nothing but chumps himself. Then when Hatton stepped up in class, Witter continued fighting chumps and whining about Hatton. And now he has nothing

Maybe you had your head up your ass when Witter won the WBC belt and defended it twice knocking out Vivian Harris and Moura.

Or more likely you had your head up Ricky Hattons ass.....

It justs sounds like to me that you hate Witter or are a big HATTON FAN. Look at who Hatton fought in his WBU reign? CAN YOU honestly tell me that some of those tomato cans were more better for UK boxing fans than seeing Witter and HATTON in a big domestic tare up?

The truth is Witter would have one probably by KO and Frank Warren knew it.

:lol: How long you been watching boxing stupid? What did you think of Kosya's loss to Vince Phillips? Im willing to bet my house you havent even seen the fight. Either way Kostya was destroyed in a one sided beat down. Did that fight define Kostya's career as a sham? Matter of fact prior to that loss who exactly had Kostya fought? Jan Biergman? Roger Mayweather? You see how stupid your reasoning is. Idiot. :patsch

You mean the same Corley that Hatton REFUSED to fight when he was the WBO mandatory back in 2003? And reneged on his number 1 slot to fight for the WBU instead? You Hatton fans are marvelous. You havent got a freaking clue.

Yea, Hatton fans, you ain't got a clue.

This is coming from Scurla, who said Tackie would KO Hatton in 3 rounds, Tszyu would KO him in a round and that he scored the Hatton/Urango fight, Hatton 114 - 113 Urango....

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

You could say that about a lot of fighters though. Mayweather never fought Margorito and he wouldve made good money but the risk was too great. Never fought Cotto and wouldve made good money and probably beat him too. Sugar Shane was avoided by Floyd for obvious reasons. A lot of fighters doit hell there was nothing careful about the Tyszu fight and I think he shocked a lot of people by beating him.

Also it seems to me Juan Urango and Colazzo are no walk in the park. I'd like to see Witter beat either one.

Hmm you dont seem to get it do you? Theres a BIG BIG diffrence between opinion and fact. I made that post over 6 years ago. The only guys who remembered that were the old brit lot and those ofay with my wars with another poster called Pocket Rocket. You were not on the Brit forum back then so dont try and use feeble ammo you've picked up in other threads to bolster your useless opinion.

I never once EVER said Kostya would KO Hatton in a round so either come correct with cold facts or simply **** off. And yes i scored Hatton Urango 114-113 Hatton? Why is there a problem with that? Are you NOT aware the 10 point must system is subjective?

Furthermore seeing as your very good at digging up peoples post why dont you explain to the board why Hatton refused to fight Corley when he was the WBO mandatory and gave up his number 1 position for a shot at a "World Title".

This is VERY true. But no other boxer in the history of this sport has done so well off shrewd marketing as has Hatton. His was a very shrewdly matched career more so than anyone else. Floyd et al have ALL risen to the occasion.

It was abundantly clear from Hattons early days that a southpaw puncher would cause him problems. Warren deliberately steered him well clear of those threats. How is it possible you can be called the best fighter in the world at your weight when we dont even know if he was the best in this country because he refused for 10 years to face his best domestic foe?
