Perez ducking Mares rematch

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by LordSharpshire, Jun 4, 2010.

  1. I would have to watch the fight again to see what you're saying about the 9th round. It was a close fight, but Mares clearly won the fight in the championship rounds. Perez was reeling in the last few rounds.

I just feel Abner is more deserving of a rematch right now as opposed to Agbeko. It would not surprise me in the least if Perez didn't fight Abner if he wins against Agbeko. Reason? Because he's already avoiding him right now!

Tell you what. If it gets to be this time next year, and Perez and Mares aren't at least scheduled to get it on, I will say "yes, in hindsight, Perez avoided Mares". Will you agree in turn, should they actually fight, to say "I got ahead of myself and was wrong about the premature ducking accusation"?

  3. Yeah right, like either of us are going to remember this conversation a week from now. You're a good egg though, IB. You know your boxing better than most of the schleps on here.

Mares would beat him fairly easy next time if their is one.
