I've heard this a few times when Floyd is asked he just smiles and says it was good work. By many accounts the second time time when they sparred Floyd held back which if true speaks volumes of the guys skill.
I doubt you were there. Regardless, I would pick Whitaker by decision. Just as gifted defensively as Mayweather, and MUCH busier. Pernell routinely landed more shots per round than Floyd even throws.
@ Boxed Ears - At the time of this sparring session, where was Pea in his career and what physical state was he in? Was he on the slide? Was he just coming into camp?

Sparring stories are plentiful of world champs getting outboxed etc...they don't mean anything, I have a hard time believing that sweet pea was opening up looking for a victory.
Whitaker would win. He outworks Mayweather. Floyd is vulnerable to be being outworked. But I think Floyd would duck a prime Whitaker though. So the fight wouldn't happen.
