Sweet Pea! Although if they fought in the same era, no way Crawford would fight such a dangerous opponent. He would find a million excuses to not fight him. Just like he’s doing with Spence. Pernell was a special talent. I think Crawford is a great boxer but it’s hard to tell because he only seems to want to fight bums these days. Hope to see how great he really is but he’s going to have to fight a real opponent for that to happen. Either way, he’d find a way to duck the great Sweet Pea.
Whitaker was not the best welter of all time by a long shot, Hearns would have destroyed him, Pea wasn`t big enough to compete with Tommy or strong enough to compete with Bud.
Spence has admitted he`s ducking Bud, Crawford would toy with Porter, Whitaker never beat anyone on Bud`s level, Bud would have fought better than Chavez did v Pea, he showed no glove control in that bout v Pea.
No way could Pea KO Bud he`s far stronger than all the fighters Pea failed to stop, if Pea went for the stoppage he would be more open to Bud`s amazing, consistent counters, Bud throws more counters than anybody that Pea ever fought.
Bud is a better counter puncher than Pea was and throws more counters consistently too and his KO ratio is miles higher than Pea`s no comparison at all.
Who has Crawford ever faced on Whitaker’s or JCC’s level? He’s fighting bums exclusively these days. Mr Glass Khan? Gym teacher Horn? Any of the guys he fought in a historically weak 140 pound division? Gamboa, stick man Indongo, Postol? Which one of those guys beats JCC or Whitaker or even gives th me a competitive fight? Crawford has proven he can beat smaller guys and bums. I’ll settle for any legit WW, Danny Garcia, Spence, etc. , but he wants an easy win every time. Until he beats a legit WW, I think it’s disrespectful to even mention his name in the same sentence as an ATG like Sweet Pea.
Yep, Khan is quick right up until he gets KTFO which he pretty much does in every fight against a good opponent these days. He’s way past prime. Younger Khan would have lasted longer before getting lit up. Gamboa was quick but was a tiny dude fighting a much bigger Crawford. Pernel would have toyed with Gamboa and sparked Khan. Same with JCC. You are taking about ATGs versus decent but not special fighters.
Exactly. Coked out/ end of career Whitaker in many peoples opinion beat PRIME Delahoya and in my opinion prime ODH dismantles Bud.
