You just twisted it to "at or near prime." Pulled that completely out of your ass to squeeze in a fading Chavez who would lose his next big fight.

Never in history has the pfp 2 been "semi-shot" while actively logging wins over a pfp fighter before and after a certain fight.

Camacho was an okay win. The 12 months that followed leading to Pea were mediocre. Oh, and Pea lost legit to Oscar.

That's my measuring stick for what makes a great win - was the fighter in their prime? Was the fighter near their primes? Chavez was thus still at-or-near prime and was coming off wins against 2 very good fighters and one good fighter in that same year. He kept in fighting shape all year round with more stay busy fights.

Prime Pac was from FW. Past prime post-Margarito. Transformed deeper into a more predictable boxing style post KTFO6, lost more physically as time went on. Psychologically shot from that KO. Falling further from prime after fighting more welterweights who are naturally bigger than him and reaching 2015, 5 years after the last fight of his prime against Margarito. Oh, and injured (with evidence from testimony of a top doctor, and corroborating evidence of knowledge of Pac's poor shoulder during training camp).
Semi-shot doesn't mean 'sucks' to me.
12 months leading to Pea? Camacho made it just within that 12 months.
Pea lost legit to Oscar - a minority opinion - everyone says it's a fight that could've gone either way.
I'm not arguing, I'm talking facts. Get over it.

I can't imagine Mayweather getting outboxed by Trinidad.

Same was said about Floyd getting 'owned' in gym by Spadafora, so that gym stories don't mean much, if anything.

I can't pick the winner based on their resume and skills.

If only we aren't discussing 34+ y.o. verisons of Whitaker and Floyd - then yes, Floyd's longetivity is clearly more impressive, and in battle of 35 year-olds Floyd definitely wins.

Floyd/Pea is a literal toss up. Both are defensively responsible. Floyd opens up more on offense than Pea would.. Especially at the lower weights.. So .. Who knows.

This is strictly for the purist. Zero punch landed lol.
Close fight can go either way.

Castillo was landing combos on Floyd by jabbing and going to the body, that's why he outlanded Floyd by 50 punches. Prime Whitaker was also great at coming forward and pressuring by attacking the body, he was a genius, he'd be Floyd's worst nightmare. Yes he clowned, but he'd literally make opponents miss with his hands down, not even Floyd would do that. Sweet Pea fought and beat the harder, better opponents in their primes. Pea was done by the time he fought Tito.

Using 1 fight out of a 49 fight career isn't telling anyone a story. Whitaker was losing to Hurtado before he KO'd him.. Is that what Floyd would do? Whitaker lost to Jose Luis Ramirez... Losses and close fights are a bad thing around here and I don't understand why?

Whitaker in the latter stages of career wasn't motivated unless he was in a big fight. He started dabbling with coke too.
Whitaker beat JLR, he was robbed.
When people talk prime matchups, you can only think about the 'ready' version of them.

Disagree completely that beating an ATG in their prime doesn't matter. Everybody who does it says it's the best win of their career. Duran says his victory over Leonard was the pinnacle of his career. And Leonard says the victory over Hearns was the pinnacle of his career. Beating an ATG in their prime is the ultimate boxing achievement. There isn't anything else in the sport that is special than doing that. Now you don't have to beat an ATG in their prime to become an ATG yourself. But by doing it you really improve your legacy and historical standing. I mean imagine if Duran did not beat Leonard? He'd probably go from being a top 5 ATG all time to about 20ish.

Me neither. Mayweather would have been slept. Tell me when Mayweather fought a huge puncher for the 147 pound class? Diego Corrales was a 130 pounder who hits nowhere near has hard as Tito p4p let alone in an absolue sense. If a 38 year old Shane Mosley can put Mayweather on ***** street with a single shot then imagine what a late 90's Tito Trinidad does. Power in both hands. Vicious left hook, crunching right hand. This guy could ****ing bang I tell you.
