Potentially great fights not being made, of course. I'm not a fan of the UFC but they all want to fight the best. Boxing at the highest level is too much about money and not enough about sporting greatness.

I completely agree with this. This 'jab and grab' form of defense seems to get used more and more these days, also leaning on fighters when they are low.

If the standing 8 count is regulated for the fight, then f*cking use it.

People always wanting to change a close decision , if it's a official loss it's on record that's it. And yes I've had enough of the Money Vs PAC talk.

Another one that bugs me sometimes is the whole H2H thing. People arguing over who would win, Jack Dempsey or Lennox Lewis for example. It's a paradox, it can't happen. People should be judged mainly on their achievements in their own era/time.

I agree, I don't mind people speculating who would win and it is interesting to hear peoples opinions on certain mythical fights but some people go way to far.

my minor pet hate with boxing is how defense is done today...more blocking instead of slipping and ducking punches. it just looks better to me to make a guy miss completely...

    Me too. I also hate;

The fact that some good fights don't get made because of promoter and tv network rivalries.

Inconsistent and dodgy judging and refereeing.

    Fighters avoiding each other.

    PPV.

The fact that some guys are/could be using PED's.

    Fans overreaction to fighters winning/losing.

Fighters talking in the third person.

Needing six months to build a fight.

    Promoters not working together.

Lastly the worst thing that ever happened to boxing - PPV!!!

Hearing the never ending volume of excuses why Floyd Mayweather jr cannot fight Manny Paquaio. Everything from Its Bob arums fault to My health comes first.
Then Floyd is caught on tape saying " Yes Manny Paquaio you're next" Then when called on saying it Floyd stutters " I never said that Err Errr stop putting words in my mouth"
Face it *****s Floyd is a cowardly woman beating street punk & a blatat LIAR to boot

yeah use of points is poor by judges also hate how refs either jump in too quickly or let sum fighters get away with loads compared to others(ie froch constantly punchin on break against groves using elbows ref never done a thing)

    1) Assuming one great win (or bad loss) is what makes a resume or defines a career. It's the easy way out and this sport is already shortsighted enough.

    2) People who take no time to understand the business of boxing but are the first to call out fighters for not taking this fight or that.

    3) Networks and/or promoters who legitimately F over guys who mess up their plans for the house fighter, either by winning outright or making them look bad.

    4) Extremism. Too often, guys are either the best ever or a total bum.

    5) Bad/corrupt reffing and judging. It just shouldn't happen in this day and age.

#3 is what pisses me off the most. It's hard enough for the (thought to be overmatched) "opponent" to pull the upset off in the first place, it's really an insult to injury to see them punished for upsetting the apple cart.

National anthems playing as the fighters are in the ring. All the warmups beforehand are wasted because of it, play it before they get to the ring or not at all.
