I'll take mine with a helping of humble pie for desert, thank you.

I was one of Peter's earliest boosters on this site, but let's be straight here - he was totally outclassed and then he quit.

Regardless, Klitschko's achievement, imo, is one of the most remarkable things I've seen in 30 years of following the fight game. Guys don't normally come off 4 year layoffs and beat top rated younger fighters, and certainly not in such dominating fashion.

IMO, this fight shows Vitali to be the best HW of the post Tyson-Holyfield-Lewis era.

Please don't tell me you think Vitali would have done the same in the 90s. With Lewis in his prime, Holyfield in his prime, Bowe? A young Golota?

    No. ****ing. Way.

What tonight proved is how utterly pathetic Sam Peter is. It opened my eyes for sure.

The division may still have some hope in Povetkin and Wladimir. All the rest show up when they want to. Not a damn one of them is worth supporting.

Vitali KO's Bowe, Golota, Tyson, and etc.

He has to fight a great fight to beat a prime Evander and probably would because of his sheer size difference.

Lennox, he would have to fight the fight of his life and Lennox would have to come in underprepared.

You jocksniffers that can't see what is so obvious with Vitali is truly disturbing. The mother****er is talented. It is easier to admit the obvious and enjoy a remarkable fighter.

After being off 4 years? I disagree strongly.

You know the difference is that those guys would be punching back. That helps.

And that is when Vitali is at his best.

The more you press, the more ****ed up you will be.

He is a counterpunching genius. He is the best big I have ever seen at deflecting shots and absorbing hits and immediately coming back in an awkward fashion to **** your face up with multiple punches from all angles.

What? a 37 year old out of shape lennox lewis TKO'd vitali, clearly a prime lennox beats him.

1980s Tyson would demolish wide open stationary vitali

riddick bowe was too talented for vitali offensivley...i train at the same gym as bowe and the man has alot of boxing wisdom.

    vitali is no great fighter.

Go back the classic forum cause you don't know...

Stationary? Have you ever seen Vitali fight. From his waist up, he is NEVER stationary. He is constantly moving and counterpunching. His chin is iron and he hits like a tank. He would break Tyson down.

Bowe? Bowe probably wouldn't lose to Vitali...BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE NEVER FOUGHT HIM. BOWE AVOIDED BIGS. Night and day. Black and white. Pretty simple to understand.

That is your retort? Because a freak cut (which it was) forces a stoppage of a fight. Nonsense...

I'm sorry but this is not cutting it. The guy didn't even try to throw punches. He was in defensive mode all night dipping and **** and not even trying to throw back. And when he did he looked really awful like he'd never thrown a punch in his life.

I know he could have done better. I'm positive of that fact. Now you take someone like Holyfield who would absolutely never give up. Or Lewis in his prime, or Bowe or Golota even as a younger man. No ****ing way does Vitali come back, 4 years later at 37 to beat those guys. And that is why this comes down to either a badly overrated heavyweight or a badly overrated era. One of the two. Take your pick.

Why the **** can't he beat these guys?

You automatically assume that Bowe takes him down?

On the basis of what, exactly?

Oh yeah, he beat Holyfield two out of three. That's right. And then disgraced himself by dumping the title rather than face.... wait for it..... a skillful fighter who matched or exceeded him for size, strength and skill.

And Golota beats Vitali as well, huh?

This is the same Golota who was stopped by Michael Grant? The same one who was starched in 90 seconds by Lennox Lewis? Who was KOed in 2 by a post-prison Mike Tyson? And in 1 by Lamon Brewster? Who is perhaps the most mentally fragile heavyweight to ever challenge for a title?

Holyfield in his prime couldn't beat Michael Moorer, lost to the only two skillful superheavyweights he ever fought, and was one punch away from getting KOed by Bert Cooper, yet Vitali, who has tremendous skill, an iron chin, the highest KO percentage in HISTORY and who physically makes Holy look like a little midget, has NO CHANCE against him?

    :rofl

Lennox Lewis had the size, the skills and the toughness to beat Klit. The others you mentioned are all SIGNIFICANT underdogs against Vitali.

    :hat
