Why not? It might actually be a good fight.

Both guys are on a similar level and are fairly well known.

The fight makes sense and I'm sure Arum is drooling at the thought of putting Pavlik in w/ the winner.

 

By the time Pavlik fights Mora and Abraham the WBC will set up another eliminator. That means the winner would have to fight Karmazin in a title eliminator, or wait.

 

If a Duddy-Manfredo winner had to then face Karmazin then they would have atleast earned a shot.

Rubio was in a similar boat.

He was an ok fighter who had to work his way to a shot.

If this scenario played out then whoever got the shot would have worked their way to their ass-whoopin .

 

Looks like a good competitive fight to me...

I can see Manfredo winning but Duddy also has a good chance.

I like this fight it makes sense to me. If Pavlik and AA move up to SMW then Duddy might have a chance at winning one of the titles.

I'm one of the few people on this board that thinks that was an excellent fight for JD. Most people forget the second half where he dug in and did what he had to do to win. Burns is good for him. Telling him he was doing well with his "anger management" in the corner. CLASSIC.

 

I'm pretty sure it is. I heard JD turned down Pavlik cuz Burns wants him at 154. The guy he fights next usually fights there.

 

I was really proud of what he did in the second half of that fight I had been saying for years that duddy isint just a brawler he cna box too. I was in the garden for the Vanda fight. While I was disapointed It didnt turn into a slobber knucker I was really impressed with his dicipline and the way he stuck to his game plan ( save the 10th round).

What people forget was that fight against duddy was like a world title shot for smichet he had so much to win and nothing to loose.
