He's talkin about his chicken dinner walking around the hotel room after being cooked, about strange noises in the night while at the hotel and especially about a strange fellow in the gym watching him everyday and talking on the phone and somedays directly into his watch. The guy was following him everywhere altough Maskaev didn't see him always he had the feeling of being watched.

The WBC has a long history of being stupid. In this case they just could not wait for their guy Sam Peter to win the title. They had try give an edge to their favorite. Seems like the WBC are pigs for punishment. Sued almost out of existence a few years back they are playing with fire again. Maskaev has them back in court with a very good chance of recieving a nice payout. Good for the sport if the WBC gets sued out of picture.

Seriously, I think Maskaev's team is talking about the open scoring during the fight, and the way the WBC treated Maskaev leading up to the fight. I can't remember the specifics, but it was very disrepectful to a champion, and I think that is what they mean by Bizarre events. Open scoring is amatuerish, and I will never know why they did that.

Seriously the open scoring didn't affect the fight,Maskaev was stopped, seriously Maskaev should have been stripped for holding the beslt more than 12 months without defending it.Seriously the WBC didn't do anything wrong to complain for

This sounds a bit rediculous.........Peter beat him, period.

If Oleg wants to continue his career at the world level, he should knuckle down, do well against Hawkins, and win himself another big fight.

He's not dead with old age, yet, and may be able to rebuild a bit of clout with a couple three good wins.

Once he's beaten Hawkins, and looks good doing so, maybe Oleg could knock Rahman, once more...........LOL

i read an article online where his team (or he, it's been a while) basically stated that he didn't feel "right", felt strangely weak, and there was no rational explanation for it. but who knows? and i haven't read much else on it.

Maskaev's problem that night was he wan't facing Peter Okhello in an easy defense...or cashing out in Moscow against Vitali...
