:lol::lol::lol::lol: Peter has 2 KO's in his last 6 fights. How is that "going for the knockout". :rofl:patsch

Wlad on the other hand has KOed 5 of his last 6 I believe.

There goes your theory on that one.

youve forgotten david haye! he will soon by wbc mandatory and i think the two would fight, valuev and chageav aka wba champ have expressed interest in fighting wlad, so the winner of their second fight should fight wlad whilst haye hopefully beats vitali

I agree, like many other posters, I think a Vitali win would end up being the final blow to a extremely punch drunk division. If Vitali does win, many people will again question, who's the best in the division. If a 4 years inactive Vitali destroys Samuel, whats that say about Wlad? The same Wlad that struggled to beat the very green Peter in september of 05, suffering numerous knockdowns and initiating 97 clinches on his way to a drama filled victory that night.

I think Peter will win the fight against Vitali, but in boxing, anythings possible.

There won't be unification...and if it does, it won't last for long.

If Peter wins it shouldn't be for the sake of unification, It should be for the sake of Peter being a better fighter.

Wlad was not the one clinching the last few rounds of the fight. Also, there sure were a lot of clinches in the McCline/Peter fight. Why did you not mention that? :huh

i don't get that whole unification debate, nobody can hold three or four titles over a longer period (4 mandatories a year???+sanctioning bodies bothering you). even lennox couldn't, so why is it not ok for the klit bros to hold two titles each? then there is two best fighters, what's the difference?

The winner of a Wlad-Peter rematch will be The Man in the HW division. They won't need to keep all four belts but like Lennox keep one belt and people will still know that that person is The Man in the division and the other champions are just titleholders. Think about the light-welter division-Hatton is clearly the man in the division and he doesn't need a belt to prove it. We all know he's The Man.

90% of the clinching that was being done was by Wlad, theres a great youtube video of it titled "Octopussy", which I thought was a great name for Wlad.

In the McCline fight, Jamel did most of the holding as well, Peter rarely clinches, only when hurt it seems.

Peter should get KTFOed for the good of my short term enjoyment...But if he doesn't fear not. There will be other weeks and other fixes.

Well McCline was never even hurt in the fight. I rememeber Peter getting knocked down 3 times and on one of them he was literally hanging off of McCline as he tried to not fall down. Peter sure did clinch a lot in that fight.

He held on when he was hurt in the 2nd round, after that he was more than fine and actually went on to outbox his man to victory. I remember McCline getting hurt from a solid overhand right, he definitely had him hurt, but McCline has a good chin and was able to recover. Peter was not a 100% that night, and it showed, taken fights on short notice is never a good idea, especially when your the champ.

There will enver, ever be another unifed champ anyway. No one has ever held four belts, and it is doubtful that in the era of fighting thee fights ina years, no one ever will. Even frgetting for a moment "champions" holding belts hostage and the machinations of promotors and organizations to sink unification, how will any fighter make three mandatories in a year and unify a fourth.

There is never going to be one champ again, we just have to deal with that.
