I've just been on their official site & it would appear the "Super Champion" policy is still in effect.

Actually, I was thinking this myself, not too long ago. Although they have some way to go before it happens. The WBO is only starting to get some respect around now.

The solution is to eliminate any of the other world title belts from exisiting apart from the WBC.

The WBC should be the only belt in every weight division which can be called the world belt.

The WBA, WBO etc... can all exist but only as regional belts, and not world title belt organisations.

Yeah i'd love to see a FIFA type system in place too, whereby we have one world champ per weight class and then you can have your continentel champs, which would actually mean something.

Such as Calzaghe being world 168 champ, with Kessler as European champ, Mundine as Australian champ etc etc.

But it's just not gonna happen is it:-( There's always gonna be greedy promoters who will **** it up for everybody.

The Ring operate by a "you have to win/lose the belt in the ring". But it can't always be like that due to injuries and whatnot. Mandatories should be enforced and time limits set.

The only way my proposal would happen would be if there was one very wealthy guy, a multi billionaire who could pay off all of the other organising bodies sufficiently for them to drop their "world" title claims.

It would also take a new organisation to be formed in co-operation with the WBC which enforced this rule and ensured that none of the other belts claimed their champion was a "world" champion and also to organise it so that there was only ONE European Champion, ONE british champion, ONE Americas Champion etc...

It would take ONE man with a big dream and big love of boxing, and about 100 billion pounds to throw into the sport. Not likely to ever happen.:deal

Very true. Where's Bill Gates when you need him:D

To go one further. You'd need the co-operation of all health boards that screen fighters. You couldn't have a case of fighter x fighting in Las Vegas and being found to be taking steroids so he's banned by Nevada. But then he's allowed fight in New York or Britain or Germany etc etc. A ban is a ban and it's enforced worldwide.

I'd absolutely love to see more scrutiny given to referees and judges whereby the governing body can actually overturn a decision.

Where would the Ultimate Warrior be if he didn't have his Intercontintal Championship? Would he ever gotten a shot against Hulk Hogan without it??
    Kidding!
Fans need to put thier PPV money behind the champion and not buy all the other crap. Multiple championships are simply a money grab. Money talks and other stuff walks!

Post an email address and I'll email them.

I emailed them once and I think it was the President who got back to me. I believe it was about open scoring.

AGREED!! I'm just having another laugh at yet another title and we need even more of, like we need holes in our heads. There's still 6 major "belts" if there's ONLY 1 World. Ba, BC, BF, BO, Lineal, and Ring. Generally? Ring pans out. But theres no guarantee:nono

IMO the orgs are structure like divisions and conferences in other sports. Ideally? They could all tourney for the right to fight the CHAMPION!!! But I'll be damned if Santa failed to deliver a unified stucture of cooperative effort to reform the sport again this year:fire

It amazes me that the powers that be. cant find a way to make it a reality! If they want to not only revive but BUILD? A little organization would go a long way. It would also give the orgs reason to reasses their system and encourage them to put forth its best in each weight class, to in essence be the ORG of Champions.

This is the stuff DREAMS ARE MADE OF:D

    Why the WBC only?

    They aren't the oldest.

And haven't you been following the total ****ing dogs breakfast they've made of their heavyweight belt.

    Champions Emeritus
    WBC Champion
    WBC Interim belt holder
Having a box off (that McCall won) to decide a mandatory challenger. When there was already both a champion emeritus wanting a title shot, and already a mandatory wanting a shot - so they create another mandatory :-(

And after ALL of that. Maskaev v Peter STILL hasn't ****ing happened.
