    Wilde, Lynch, Lewis all have good cases but I would go with Lewis post MoQ rules.

    Most people will pick Lewis because most people outside the UK have little idea of the other 2 and there is little footage of Wilde (one of them his fight against Pancho Villa where he was well past his prime).

    But if you go by birth then I think Fitzsimmons who was born in Cornwall ranks ahead of Lewis.

    Jimmy McLarnin was born in Ireland but his family emigrated to Canada when he was young, so he deserves a mention when Canada is brought up though I think Langford is # 1.

    UK for me could be Ted Kid Lewis on an achievements base, could also be Wilde, or Lynch, some might argue Driscoll or Welsh or LL.

    But for my money the BEST Ever to come out of the UK, ALL Round for Skill, Excellence, Longeviety, Draw/Popularity, Ambassadorship to the sport and just overall Class would be...

    True, Len Harvey was almost worshipped as a master boxer in the 1930s.
    Definitely one of the greatest this island has produced.

    ALL of Ireland was part of the union when Jimmy McLarnin was born.

    I've heard the Irish/British thing has been a little controversial though. :lol:
