The guy who en-dangered our troops with false stories in the paper spouting abuse about a guy who won a gold medal for Britain in the olympics? Personaly I don't like like it when people slag off Audley Harrison. He's achieved more than 99.9% of people who lace up the gloves ever get close to doing. His problem was that he physicaly started to deteriate as he was gaining exp in the pro game. He didn't back up the talk of his early days but he seems like a good bloke and seems to love the game as well.
Beeston Brawler - Froch has stayed respectful of Harrison in the press. End of the day, he may not be in Froch's league p4p but he'd still probably brutaly KO him. Froch is just as bad as Harrison for talking rubbish anyway.
Piers Morgan is a very good friend of Adam Booth. They share a similar kind of creepy energy, though Booth is much darker.
I don't disagree that Morgan often has too much to say for himself, however I agree with what he says about Harrison here. Lots of people show courage in all walks of life, whether it be entering burning buildings to safe small children, or driving an ambulance at 100mph on a single carriageway. Having courage isn't exclusive to lacing the gloves up :deal I'd back Froch to beat Harrison H2H, never mind P4P mate. Froch says a lot, but much of it is tongue in cheek.... and as far as I'm concerned can say what he wants about who he wants, because he's fought pretty much everybody.
I don't care if Morgan is right or wrong in what he say's. At the end of the day i couldn't give a toss what he has to say about anything, especially regarding boxing. I mean come on, Piers Morgan on ESB?!?!
Beeston Brawler - So your telling me that out of all the kids who ever step into a boxing gym wanting to box more than 1 in a 1000 go on to win an Olympic gold medal and win a European title in the pro game?
No way does a guy who gets hit flush in every fight, who has a hard punch but not exactly devastating KO punch beat a heavy with a good chin who can score 1 punch KO's. What about the fact that Froch, who relentlessly called out Calzaghe after about his 14th pro fight was offered the fight ahead of Bika and chose not to take it. Harrison has 6 stone and a massive reach advantage over Froch. No way would Froch beat him.
Harrison has no heart and a glass chin. I'm not saying Froch would stop him but it's hardly impossible for him to beat him over 12 rounds. Harrison isn't even a puncher..... it was Sprott's fault that he put himself in harm's way and was hit with a left hand that contained a postage stamp. His footwork is gash, his reflexes are gone.... he's just a crap fighter. I don't see what Calzaghe has to do with anything either :blood
Don't agree with his. If we went along with this view, only athletes would be allowed to comment on other athlete's performances. We might not take Morgan says as seriously (or seriously at all) as compared to, say, Carl Froch but he still has right to say what he wants. As do you and I, regardless of whether we have stepped into the ring.
Where's your response to my other post about what Harrison having schieved being at least 1 in a 1000 then? I've boxed long enough to know how it works and I'll tell you now well over 95% of people who take up boxing quit before having 1 amature fight. Are you telling me that more than 1 in a 1000 people who take up boxing become the best amature in the world and become a top 40 pro in the world. I can tell you've never boxed if that's what you think .
It's pathetic mate, Carl was offered good money to take the fight ahead of Bika according to Frank W a r r e n. Carl is a world class fighter but he clearly lost to Kessler. As for the comments about only fighters being allowed to critisize other fighters yes when it comes to ruthlessly disrespectful comments by guys who couldn't do it themselves yes. Maybe if you want to say fighter x is not world class or is over payed because... but not when you dig into a guy the way some people on here do.
