Really terrific fight. Really admired Martirosyan's heart. He was just getting teed off on, but never stopped throwing punches with bad intentions. Always kept going for the win.

I really appreciate that in a fighter.

The ring was shameful, though. guys slipping all over the place. Was really dangerous and unfair to both fighters.

I thought Pirog looked really good, really accurate. He absorbed some great punches, particularly to the body. I really like his upper body movement, but wish he would control distance better, he has such physical advantages over a guy like Martorosyan with that reach of his. I'd love to see what he'd do with a Manny Stewart as his trainer.

That being said, I love his accuracy and uppercuts. I wish that fight had compubox stats, Pirog might have broken all records.

Terrific fight, big respect for both guys!

Started watching from the 9th round, how did Pirog look earlier in the fight, is he still as good as in the Jacobs fight?

it looked like the corner stopped it. like 5 seconds after they went to their corners it was stopped.

So what's the consensus on Pirog now? Could he possibly hang with Martinez?

I don't think so. I think he could be competitive against Quillin but still lose a UD get's Knocked-out late by Golovkin and humiliated to a possible RTD by Martinez. He's good but not good enough for these 3. Strum probably wins a Decision to. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is probably his best chance.
    Then maybe I'm underrating him.
He's probably be competitive and exciting in all fight except against Martinez.

In terms of evenly matched, high level entertainment Golovkin v Pirog is probably the best match up at 160. I'd rather see that. Martinez is just on another level than the rest right now I think.
