After a harder than anticipated fight with Javier Maciel, Pirog is eager to return to the US in search of some more notoriety. Him and his team are expecting to fight in America this summer on a major TV network(HBO and Showtime obviously). His US promoters, Banner Promotions, says that they are seeking bouts with Paul Williams and Andy Lee. German Titov, his European promoters, haven't said anything as of yet.

    I'd fancy Williams against him.

I think I would too. I haven't bought into Pirog yet, he hasn't actually beaten anybody to warrant the attention he gets. Most people say that they dont rate Jacobs at all, yet he's Pirog's best win, and was arguably winning too.

Pirog is the new Maidana in the sense of he has absorbed the hype from the hype job he defeated and now everyone thinks he's king ****.

I rated him before the Jacobs fight.

From what I heard he was **** at the weekend.

Williams is a hard fight for anyone, good chin, high workrate. Good fight IMO

    Lee is still shite.

Would love to see the Williams fight but think PW is gonna move down.

Why not have him vs Golivkin. With 2 belts the winner will be a big enough name for Martinez.

He destroys Andy Lee right now.

pisses me off when people say "you can't rate him off the Jacobs fight"

Were not. I have seen 5-6 of his fights and had him to win that....made some G's $$$$

I think that's a bit harsh, F. Andy Lee has his strengths and weaknesses just like anyone else. He ain't going to beat Martinez, but he'll give pretty much anyone else at 160lbs a rough ride. His punching power among the best in the division for me, and he throws with nice technique. Leaky defence, perhaps.

Bar sparking McEwan who has his puncher been proven against?

He can punch late on, I'll give him that.

Non-punchers don't do this to former world champions.

McEwan also went on record to say Andy Lee is the hardest hitter he has ever faced. Whether it be competitive fights or sparring. He's never faced anyone who has hit as hard...his words.

    Was that the brutal uppercut?

    yeah, that was nice.

I will re-phrase then; his application isn't good enough. bar that, he has no defence and is too stiff.

These are other factors into why I don't rate him.

Lemiuex has impressed me more, and will do again when he decimates Rubio :yep :good

Vera is a good gauge; he can be hit with the kitchen sink but Lee couldn't budge him. Someone hitting you with **** loads and being a big puncher, he shoulda got him out of there IMO.

Lemieux is clearly a better prospect than Andy Lee, but you said the Irishman was "shite". I just think that's a little harsh. Never mind.
