I think it'd be in his best interest to match him with someone like Marcus Upshaw who just upset St Juste and then maybe and Ossie Duran or St Juste himself. I'd be leary of Simon just yet. A grizzled vet with a tough beard and decent punch can ruin a young hotshot like David be drawing him into a war.

At only 21 y.o., he's doing great so far, no need to rush, I'd rather see him have a long career than be another David Reid/Fernando Vargas/Jaidon Cordington/Daniel Jaccobs.

I understand your point, but Lemeuix will be doing very well to achieve what Vargas did. And it's way too early to write off Jacobs. It's not like he suffered a life-altering beating.

I'd like to see Lemieux fight Lujaun Simon for the very reasons you gave for not fighting him. Young David has the same developmental problem that Abraham, Pavlik, and to some extent, Miranda had. He needs to put in rounds of boxing. They put him in with guys who ought to give him some rounds, and he sparks them in 2 or 3. Simon has the right kind of chin and experience to make David work his ass off. That's what he needs, and I think he is ready for it. Unfortunately, Simon turned the fight down. I do not know why.
