If Pavlik is healthy, he makes Pirog look like Gary Lockett and everyone on here screams hypejob Pirog..:rofl:rofl
Okay, maybe I might be putting this kid on a high pedestal, but I'm not just basing his performance on who he beat because obviously Jacobs hasn't been tested either or been with any big names. But the way Pirog just handled himself throughout the fight, at first I thought because of his stand-up style he was your typical Eastern European and he was going to muscle his way in in giving Jacobs a hard earned victory, but Pirog started showing very good skills and the commentators were on spot about him being a student of American boxing. He showed alot of waist movement which many, many fighters today even veterans neglect to use and it really is a thing of beauty to see a fighter use those skills. He'd also mix in his punches and change the velocity on them to confuse Jacobs. He also kept a cool head when Jacobs actually landed a great shot, but Pirog kept on truckin. Pirog was still slipping punches and making Jacobs miss despite Pirog still using his stand up style. I know, I know, Pirog still needs to be tested, and he will, but I like the way he confuses you into thinking he's going to be easy to hit, and then starts getting you from different angles. IDK, I think this kid is the real deal. He's not a reckless fighter that goes in for the kill that puts himself in danger of getting ko'd himself, and yes, like Monzon, he cutdown his prey with a coolness rarely seen today. I'm not saying he is Monzon, there might never be one like him again, but he does show some similarities. Maybe not in greatness, but in the way he fights he does.
You are ****ing joke... Between these two guys, Pavlik and Pirog if either guy gonna make another look like GAry Locket it is Pirog..
How does anyone here think Pavlik would of done with Jacobs pre-Pirog? Honestly without the fanboyness? Martinez wasn't considered world class until he gave Williams the fight of his life and a questionable win, and even though Jacobs never been tested wouldn't his style be wrong for Pavlik as well? I also don't think Pirog is a huge puncher because he's not, but his does have a high ko percentage plus the skills he's pretty much a double edged blade. He can box and knock off people's heads. You can't really say that about most.
I don't buy the Monzon comparison, and actually think that comparison is a bit of an insult to the historic middleweight division. The rest of your post is quite good. Pirog is an impressive prospect. However, the thread title is "Pirog would KTFO Kelly Pavlik." That notion is absurd. If you want to completely ruin a damn good prospect, putting him in the ring with a guy who is 2-2 against top 10 P4P opposition, and has been boxing since he was 9 years old, is a damn good way to do it.
Why? Because he destroyed Jokeobs? Well Pavlik destroyed the MUCH better version of Jokeobs... Taylor. I cant believe I'm defending Pavlik.... but Kelly kicks Pirog's ass.
