:huh What Euro-level fighters have the Phillipines produced? In my estimation, American fighters have produced several Euro-level talents over the course of boxing history, but remain second only to Europe and Cuba. I think American fighters can learn from the nation of Cuba, who have produced dozens and dozens of Euro-level talents.

I rank Cuban athletes, even though they largely do not fight professionally, because they have fought and beat several European talents in the amateurs.

I think people are losing sight of what it means to be a Euro-level athlete. Joe Calzaghe never was, never has been, and never will be a Euro-level athlete.

They were always pretty good fighters. Sumbu Kalambay was better than most american fighters. Herol Graham. Naz. Just that we in this country focus on US fighters. Also, the american fighters are protecting themselves more now and their skill level is not as great as it used to be when they fought more and better guys. The european guys fight each other more and put in the time. Look at guys like Nigel Benn. He could have beaten anyone. Maske.

Lacy was never a top Black American athlete. Lacy was basically a body builder who happened to box.
