yes he has a chance of winning but it is a very long shot. his size and age are huge hurdles to overcome. he will not be able to hurt floyd as easy as he hurts guys his size and floyd will hit him harder than he has been hit before. his age has taken a toll on his recuperative powers and he will weaken faster as the fight goes on. if he wins this fight it will put him along sanchez as mexicos most beloved fighter. good luck to him.

You honestly think that Floyd hasn't been training?

The guy is a full time professional athlete. He doesn't take time off. I doubt he got bloated, and it's likely that he continued to train hard during the offseason, aka his retirement.

Aside from which, it's about styles. JMM may be tenative, but I doubt it. Floyd will get him to throw first, probably pick him apart, and then knock him out in the later rounds.

Floyd want to make an impression, and he's picking a guy that's far outside his best SEEN weight class.

The real question is whether or not JMM is truly a PFP fighter.

This will prove if he is or isn't.

Marquez can beat floyd mayweather, but floyd is definately the favourite in this fight.

    Why marquez can win
    • he is a great fighter
    • he is in his prime
    • coming into the fight of two stunning KO victories
    • most people believe he beat pacquiao in the second fight
    • floyd is coming back to the ring after a year and a half out
    • floyd hasn't fought anybody with as much boxing skills as marquez
    • marquez has a very high workrate
i think its completly wrong for people to say that this fight is an easy fight for floyd. personally i think this fight is better than hatton vs pacquiao, i believe that fight will turn out to be a miss match, wheras mayweather and marquez will put on a great fight which could go either way.

Good fighter's always have a chance.
Floyd ain't unbeatable, nobody is.... Ask Castillo. (make any excuse)

And If JMM wins expect to hear some more.
Let's just hope JMM moves on to better **** after and don't rematch him.

I dont think JMM can beat Mayweather but who can?? I see nobody right now thats boxing that can beat Mayweather. Pacquaio and PWill has the besty shot but that doesnt mean they win. and its not about size. if Mayweather was at 135 like 5 years ago JMM would get KO in 5 rounds, now it might be 10

    No chance whatsoever.
Way to small and way to leaky of a defense.
    Mayweather by KO.

This fight won't prove that. Marquez is a p4p calibre fighter whether he loses to Mayweather or not. JMM's last 3 fights guarantee his place as one of the very best fighters of this decade.

I think Floyd will win but that said i think 2 things are kinda overlooked when people are underrating Marquez.

1 is that his power seems to be increasing when hes movingup ... he is scoring damaging KO's over people with sturdy chins.
2 and most importantly is that Marquez is a freakishly accurate puncher.... he scores flushes punches on pretty much anyone and that is something Floyd has never dealt with.

So here you have someone that is a master of defense and someone that is a master at landing punches.

Floyd superior athleticism and sheer speed (+ great skill of his own) should beat the smaller Marquez but i am still quite intrigued to see this.

I do not think this will be as easy for Floyd as some are saying.
And to quote another poster "Marquez is nobodys ****ing tuneup"

Who is to say Marquez ain't the guy to break Floyd down?
Just remember in order to get JMM in trouble you have to be willing to trade with him.
Just don't fit Floyd's fighting style to do that.

would rather see Pac III, but ITISWHATITIS!

JMM gets hit way to much for him to beat PBF.

I'm gonna get is real this is BLATENT cherrypicking on Floyds part, and realistically this is a mismatch........BUT, Marquez is not without hope

When you break things down, speed, size, power etc...physically they're not even on the same level, but Marquez does have 1 card that gives him hope, his counterpunching ability

Hands down Marquez is the best counterpuncher in the game, he's brilliant at timing, and this may (though severly unlikely) lead to another case of "cherrypicking gone wrong" much like we saw in Dlh-Pacman

As for the explanation, we all know Mayweatyer is a defensive genius right? but he ain't perfect (though alot of his fans seem to think otherwise) he has been rocked and he has been dropped, and both times it was against a counterpuncher, Corley rocked him and Judah dropped him (though it was ruled otherwise)

now when you think about it realistically, it all makes since, Floyds too fast to get into exchanges with, cuzz he'll just hit you first then move out of the way, or of if he doesnt dluse that option he can just avoid your punches 1 by 1, cuzz with his defense it is very hard to land cleanly the way he rolls his shoulders with the blows, also he can just wait till he sees an opening then hit u with a counter, which is why people who just press him and try force there way through hisndefense are just made to look silly in the end, so if you can't force your way through his defense what do u do? You wait for an opening, the only opening he gives you, when he punches....let's recall the Judah fight since that was the more recent one, a perfect counter hook knocked Floyd right Floyd back and made his glove touch the canvas, now I don't think Judah caught him because he caught his timing down, or else he would of been countering him all night, I think he just happened to land this shot since his hands were faster theN Floyds, and all in all Zabs just not a clever fighter

However JMM is very clever and as I said is brilliant at timing opponents regardless of how fast they are (which is why Pac could never decisively beat him), so if Marquez chooses to fight smart by staying on the outside working behind his jab untill Floyd strikes then countering each time has a chance at victory, if infact Hopkins spoke of of using a similar strategy against the other defensive wiz in the game Winky Wright

He said something like: "the only way to catch a turtle is to get him out of his shell, and the only time he comes out of his shell is when he bites" meaning, you cant break through his defense you just have to wait till he opens it up and then attack

So yeah, that's about all I can see working Marquez, but I severly doubt it will be enough, plus we don't no how the extra weight will afect his body
