The judges are selected according to some sort of criteria and then they want to secure their position by scoring consentually to what is expected or accordingly with the pre-fight analysis and predictions. The Media and Press ultra-developed their insight on how the fights will unfold and most probably, the judges have these headlines in their minds at fight night and ease down the pressure on themselves by scoring the way most won't discuss against. That is the only way I can understand the scores in the first fight and of this rematch - boxing is becoming too political and fights start to be decided much before they take place... Obviously, had Pavlik not stopped Taylor in the first fight, the scorecards would probably be more scandalous in Taylor's favour...
Yeah, I've got to watch it again. What a pressure cooker last night. He'll look better when I watcg the replay. Wheres some threads from vonBanditos & the others that went to the post fight party? I was expecting to see alot of pics of our Pavlik fans who are ESB members along with KP? :huh
:yep :good I must say again the fight was 100 times easier to watch this time and this time it looked a whole lot better. Last night, if JT landed even 1 punch I had to hold my breath til I knew it was alright. Forever, Go Kelly!!!! Cant wait to see Banditos pics and stories either.
Maybe if u watchin boxing and know more about it you can make more accurate predictions. Instead of going on forums and acting like a fricken ******.
so i make 1 wrong prediction i dont know boxng? you only started watching boxing after pavlik beat edison mirandaatsch
yeah, go ahead see how many wrong predicitions i have made, go through the archives or should i just tell you? mab vs pac 2 and taylor vs pavlik 2 i even picked quintana to beat paul williams or atleast give him a hard fight.
I agree with you on this point. I also thought KP didn't quite look normal imo. Not sure if it was because of how defensive JT was fighting.....or if the pressure got to him a bit. Could be a number of things. But regardless, the best man won!
pavlik didn't do anything different, he threw loads of punches, he had his jab out on taylors face all night, it was taylor who fought different.
That's true to an extent. He WAS def. in there with a much improved version of JT, but I'd never seen him appear to be "gun shy" before. I noticed on a couple occasions he would hold back his right, in the exact same position/place he would have nailed JT with it in part 1.
Exactly. I'm not saying that Pavlik was "drastically different" or fought completely different. I'm just saying that I have watched about a dozen of Pavliks fights and he was not his regular self imo. He held back punches on occasion and looked a little more drained than usual before it looked like he caught his second wind
Remember Pavlik-Taylor1?? Why the **** are we downplaying Pavliks performance anyway?? The first fight he got up off the canvas to KO him Last nite he won the fight with a SOLID jab against Taylor who worked very well behind his own... I say we remember the two fights as a whole as it illustrates to some that Pavlik doesnt need a KO to win I'm sure you people have heard of ring generalship before as well
I knew people would take me way out of context.....Pavlik looked (for the first time) a little stunned by an opponent, slightly gunshy and a little nervous at times. He still won the fight and had a good performance, I was just pointing out what I noticed. Thats all....im not implying anything :thumbsup
