Any new updates? Hope he makes a full recovery and lives out the rest of his life with his health intact. That fight against Tsutsumi was brutal.

    Latest News from Japan Articles

No abnormalities were seen until the final round, and even after the 10th round knockdown, he stood up and struck a solid fighting pose, but after the fight, his leg cramped up in the ring. With the assistance of trainers and others, he walked back to the waiting room, but there his body lost strength and he lost consciousness when he was taken to the medical room. He was immediately rushed by ambulance to a hospital in Tokyo, where a neurosurgeon on duty performed a craniotomy without losing any time, as JBC had made arrangements. A large blood vessel in his brain had been severed.

There were concerns about complications due to the deterioration of his body functions, but by the 1st of January, measures were taken to activate his respiratory system, his blood pressure had returned to normal, and his condition improved after the critical situation was resolved. However, he has not regained consciousness, and the situation continues to be unpredictable.

This kid had so much potential. He was boxing beautifully and then he got suckered into a brawl. This hurts. This is why boxing has a logical historical endpoint, but I will enjoy it while it lasts. I hope he is able to recover fully. Prayers for Kazuki Anaguchi

Every time this happens is another nail fast to shut the sport down. Medical associations are always circling boxing. Sometimes it's not hard to blame them

It churns out broken men, it isn't right, but it is an honest reflection of the world we live in. Ruining your own life is legal after all. But Kazuki Anaguchi was competing with all his heart. Nobody deserves this fate for an honest endeavor.

I set my alarm 45 minutes early to watch Inoue but the ring walks time for the main event I saw online were well off and I subsequently missed half the Inoue fight. Had I not been extremely sleep deprived I would've watched the whole card but I'm glad I didn't after reading this thread. I've seen a number of ring tragedies live on TV or stream and the memory of them stays with you. Poor guy I really hope he pulls through and can make a full recovery.

The fight itself was really great and reminiscent sadly of Quiroga and Kid Akeem, on multiple levels now.

Yeah, I heard that. If it was the chief support I would've seen it had the ring walk times on the site I checked been correct.

I was seeing Quiroga and Akeem as I was watching it, a rangy power punching boxer vs. a headfirst infighter, and I was standing up like an old dad hoping Anaguchi would keep fending Tsutsumi off. I never thought it would turn out as such, or worse. I figured Anaguchi would tighten his game up, learn a lot, and I was excited to follow his career, after only 6 fights he had promise with a great stance and solid zip on all his shots and nice straight punches. Lots of heart and speed. Incredibly unfortunate.
