WTF does this actually mean? how can you connect your sky box to your phone line? my phone line is about 15 yards from my sky box. What do you connect them with?
theres a socket in the back of your sky box for a cable with a connector. other end plugs into same place as ya phone.. Sky usually connect them up to your phone line when you have sky installed. Im pretty sure the cable you need is the same as the one you use for dial up internet access..if you happen to have one of those lying around.
You should have got a long cable when it was installed. Maybe not 15 yards though. Otherwise you can buy the cables from PC world I think and other places. Probably better off getting the net stream at this time of day.
I thought you had to have the phone line plugged in, I got a shitty letter from Sky once for not having it connected.
Generally speaking you dont need to have your phone line installed for sky. But, for this primetimetv channel you need to have the phone line hooked up to your sky box or else it will not work.
They don't like you not having it connected as it stops interactive services and updates. There's probably a more sinister reason too, but I can't think of it right now. As for the OP, I'm surprised they installed it without hooking it to the phone line. Are you sure it's not connected?
I only plug it in when I order a pvv, not even sure it is needed then either unless you order through the tv.
actually.. the cable that plugs into your router/modem may fit in the back of the sky box also. Chances are it wont be long enough so you'll need a phone extension too from somewhere
I think once you've had the box a year you can take it out, but I presume it is something to do with PPV and ordering box office stuff
yea the only reason they connect it up for you is you can spend money playing their games n ordering off box office. it doesnt do **** else.
I am not in the house yet mate, I ve not checked, hopefuly it is in already, but started to panic thinking it was something you had to do.
When you get in press "Services" on your remote, then go to "System Setup" and then "System Test". It will tell you if your phone line is connected.:good
