While Mayweather is ARGUABLY the best defensive fighter of this generation. Whitaker is ARGUABLY the best defensive fighter of all time.

Its Sweet Pea hands down. Im honestly shocked 10 people picked Floyd....and I mean SHOCKED!

I honestly dont even think its close. I mean, if you wanna argue Locche or Pep....then thats another story.

Pep is not to be mentioned with these guys, legend or not, watch him on film, he's not comparable with Pea or Locche.

But I am shocked also, the kiddies must have not seen much of Pea.

Floyd has technically the better defense. Pernell has the better reflexes.

Floyd would be able to fight successfully past 35.. we saw what happened to Pea when he tried.

I have to give it to Floyd, I've never and I mean never seened anyone land any type of combo on Floyd. I have seened fighters land combos on Pernell in his prime at that, especially during this one round in the Azumah Nelson fight.

You can also make the arguement that Floyd hasnt fought anyone as good as Azuma Nelson as well.

But this is still baffling me. HOW CAN ANYONE SERIOUSLY CHOOSE FLOYD??? ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE?

    :huh

Pep's head and overall movement is matched by only Whitaker in my eyes.

But I definately agree with the last statement...there is NO WAY they have really seen Sweet Pea.

I mean, look at the difference in just their one common opponent. While Floyd did win the fight, Oscar was able to connect quite a few times (nothing hard or serious...but he was able to land...)...now go look at his fight vs Pernell. He was younger, faster, prime...yet there were numerous occasions when Pernell went on the defensive where Oscar couldnt land a thing, all while throwing 7-10 punches at a time. And just as this was a faster, younger, prime Oscar...this was a slower, older, past his prime Sweet Pea.

I mean, this is not even close...I just cant believe the posters on this site some times. I wish this poll was public.

People must not be watching the video you posted. That pretty much ends the argument right there. It's also amazing that a past prime Whitaker made a prime Oscar miss more than a prime PBF could a past prime oscar.

:lol: I bet if you go back and look at stats I bet Whitaker got hit more. Put on his ass more pretty much any category. You forgot one thing, Floyd stood right dead in front of ODH and COUNTERED him after making him miss... Not just go on the defense and skip around the ring....:rofl You guys are funny as ****.

Maybe you should go do some research there bro. Pernell not only THREW more than Oscar, he landed more than Oscar as well....so much for the "dancing around the ring thought". Oscar also threw more vs Pernell as he did vs Floyd...so much for the standing toe to toe with him thought. Oscar was also faster, younger and IN HIS PRIME vs Whitaker, when Whitaker was older, slower and far past his when they fought.....while Floyd in his vs and older, slower, past his prime Oscar (even dropped Oscar...again, shoots holes in your theory). As for Pernell getting dropped more...he also fought MUCH better competition.

    Be ****in serious.

(now I see how Floyd has 14 votes....jesus some people just dont know **** beyond 5 years ago...)

I'd have to say Floyd. Whitaker was all reflexes and quickness. Floyd's defense is more technique.

Bull****. Pep's defense was incredible. Why do you make sweeping statements like this... "not comparable."

What have you seen of him outside of youtube?

If you feel Whitaker cant hit...you havent seen Sweet Pea. He may have been known as a defender...but his offensive game was simply stunning. Its just overlooked because of how truely special he was on the other side. Now was he a power puncher? HELL NO...but he definately had enough power to keep his opponents honest.

There is no way to even attempt to argue that Floyd was/is better. Not offensively, not defensively...not resume...not accomplishments...I just dont get what people are seeing here??? Not to take away from anything Floyd has done...he is truely a special fighter...but he is no Pernell Whitaker. Sorry.

Please someone explain why or how Floyd is a better fighter/higher ATG/better defender/better offensively....ANYTHING??
