That's about what I thought of Trevor Berbick's fashion sensibilities.

Me to Berbick after Tyson knocked him out: "Yeah! Take those socks back to Jamaica, mother@#$@! You got knocked out cuzzada socks!"

Okay, not really. But that's what I'm thinking now.

Yeah i agree with that statement I was just scratching my head for a second there :rofl Palomino in todays crop of welters would be very interesting IMO but he does outclass Margarito; the guy has the chin to stand up to any late pressure Margo might bring after being cut in half by body blows.

On the Simon Brown comment I think Margarito's last fight has left an impression on people. The guy had an IRON chin and personally i feel that the cotto fight took alot out of him too. I don't think he is getting knocked out if he is prime, the guy has been blocking punches with his face his entire career and has only just paid the price! :rofl

Margarito never faced anyone with the power and skills of Brown though in his prime (or past his prime either). A prime Brown would be the best fighter he's faced imo by a clear margin.

Margarito did take the flush shots of Kermit Cintron repeatedly without ever being wobbled and just walked through what Cotto was hitting him with, I mean he got hit with some HUGE blows in that fight.

I watched the fight live and pissed, and was pretty amazed that Margarito could do that. At that point most people had him as the best chin in boxing. Simon Brown could certainly punch but KO's over notorious glass jaws such as Terry Norris and Jorge Vaca can create a false impression. Blocker also had a suspect chin. Its also easy to forget how many massive power shots Mosley landed on Margarito before keeping him down.

Its easy for me to envisige Brown beating Margarito but I cant see him knocking him out. Feel free to disagree :good

Come on dude thats what like 5-6 years younger then you isnt it?

Admittedly I thought sweet was a little older but its of little relevance, he is very respected on here because he just straight up knows what he is on about..and has seen just about every fight he cares to comment on, probably multiple times.

Its pretty pretentious of you to assume that anyone who is a bit younger automatically doesnt know what they are talking about...especially when so much about this sport is a matter of opinion.

Prime Simon Brown would tear Maragritos head off -Cintron isn't even close to Brown.

Cintron hits like a ****ing truck. I hate the guy, but he hit just as hard as Brown.

You know he was 168 three weeks before a week once? A nutritionist/trainer that posters in general used to help him cut weight/dehydrate.

But, yeah, SMW Cintron no doubt hits harder then a normal sized Welter in Brown.

The issue for me Ric is whether Margarito can take a bombing from Brown for 12 rounds. Cotto is a decent enough puncher and Cinton is a good puncher, but neither is in Brown's overall class - Cotto lacks Brown's strength, resilience and is a lesser puncher too imo. Cintron is a big hitter, but doesn't have Brown's resilience and skills. I just can't see Margarito lasting 12 rounds with Brown, the way he gets hit. But yeah, we'll agree to disagree :good

Maybe he hits as hard, if he doesn't he's not far away, but he doesn't have Brown's skills or resilience.

Bump - anarci, you can run but you can't hide. :D

Don't worry, no one can even be bothered watching the fight, so no one is going to call you mad for scoring it like you have. In any case, I would like to see your scorecard for this fight.

I will check it out S_S, won't look back at your scores though, maybe then we can see how our interpretations match up.

I'll post back tomorrow night if I get the chance, still sorting out my itunes/ipod/iphone at the mo', which are all causing me massive grief and bringing me closer to a murderous rampage across my (already brutal) estate
