    the butthurt have raised the dead thread.

    Seriously I have watched that fight over 10 times I lost count its a great fight. and I cannot pick a clear winner too damn close to call. glad im not a judge.

    Yes its best to show granchildren a flash knockdown. because ward with all the belts and lineal championship would be too much reality. best to lie to the grandchildren.

    Or show them one of the hundreds of polls that show the VAST MAJORITY saying Kovalev deserved the nod! Could do that too along with showing them that ******ed ass Sugar Ray Lenard showboat act Ward attempted while eating an atomic stick. :thumbsup:

    One should also note this is a fight where the seeming general consensus also had the loser ahead. Notable boxing minds Floyd Mayweather, wards actual friend and colleague Roy Jones, and Robert Garcia... among many other notable pros and coaches, along with over 70 percent of the largest poll on the subject of over 5,000 boxing fans, also had Kova winning. In fact I dont know of a single poll that is all that close, let alone actually have ward winning.

    I have no dog in this fight, but Kovalev won a close fight. At very best a draw for Ward. This was a hometown decision.

    7-5 plus the KD a 3 pt swing.
    I personally gave Sergey 1,2,3,5,6,10,12
    While 4 I gave to Andre for doing better than in previous rds, and 7 because he quit clawing at his ear and started utilizing the clinch and holding and hitting better.
    The 7 Sergey won were clear, and the judges swung the fight by stealing 10 from him.

    My scorecard was almost identical. I gave 5 to Ward instead of 4. 11 was very close but I gave it to Ward in the interests of being fair lol. 10 was very obviously a Kovalev round and I agree with you that this was the round wherein they robbed him.

    7 and 8 imho were his best rounds. 9 I think he edged too, although I have seen some people argue Kova could have taken it.

    kovalev edged him out over the 12 rounds, though he failed to adminster his authority in the latter half of the fight in the same way he dominated the first half.

    At best for ward, it was a draw, not a win, not even a marginal one.
