Poll - Will Jai Opetaia win a title at heavyweight?

He won’t ever go to heavyweight IMO. And rightly so, he vacated his belt so he didn’t have to fight Briedis again and now he’s fighting guys we’ve never heard of?

If he can fight Briedis again (if he has the stones to take the fight), CBS, Riakporhe, Okolie, Badou Jack and Ramirez then he can claim to be a great Cruiser. Until then, why are we gaslighting someone that has had one elite fight (Briedis)

After the Fury-Usyk saga plays out, there will be four belts to chose from. I wouldn't put him in there against Joshua, and also as a hard-hitting southpaw heavy, I would keep him away form Zhang.

Could he be competitive with Dubois, Hrgovic, Kabeyel, or Parker for a belt? Why not?

The premise of your question is nonsense.

Opetaia didn't quit against Briedis who hits as hard as many heavyweights. He has never shown any evidence that he is a quitter and there's nothing to say that he gets his jaw broken again anyway. Or a broken hand given he is now really letting his punches go again after surgery.

all those reasons give him a reason to quit, as most would certainly do and should for their own safety but you allowing no leniency for having endured such a shocking injury shows your bias against him whether you care to admit it or not.

Why would he duck a guy who he had already beaten? Briedis wasn't ready to fight because of injury and Opetaia is entitled to both stay busy and get paid.
