ATTENTION ALL POSTERS ON THIS THREAD:

I think I have just figured something out. Regardless of the outcome of Widow's ridiculously one sided biased campaign with this poll, a clear observation can be made. The current numbers of the thread are around 53 in favor of Widow but only about 19 in favor of myself. Yet, the only people who have primarily posted in this thread are primarily in favor of my views, excluding one idiot named eze who so ignorantly accused me of only listing the current ages of Wlad's opponents and not the actual ones, when he fought them ( not true ).

Could it possibly be, that posters who are passing by are not reading the contents of the thread, or worse, are Widow's numbers constructed from random people, perhaps at school or on a college campus whom he's coaxing to log in and vote for him?

Personally, I think the level of posts on this thread supporting our arguments makes me a bit leary.

Funny how only 18 or so posters have contributed to this thread, with the majority leaning towards my side, a few who are nuetral, and only a small minority who favor Widow's views.

For those who took on the action of posting.

    Actions speak louder than words.

No, Wlad's resume has not been formed by feasting on "shells of older fighters." The fact is that in this era, most of the top heavyweights just plain are old. I think the only heavyweight in the top 10 who's under 30 is Samuel Peter, although Povetkin may be top 10 now (but Wlad probably will fight and beat Povetkin), and Wlad already faced and defeated Peter. The guys he has been beating have not been "shells of fighters," but have been, for the most part, guys who were currently on top and near the peaks of their careers.

    Hmm...

Im not sure how this is really a debate to be honest... Some of wlads best wins are

    Peter - 25 - Young
    Monte - 29 - Not old
    Byrd 1 - 30 - Not old
    Brock - 31 - Not old
    McCline - 32
    Jefforson - 33
Sultan - what.. 33 or so? not old
Brewster (as lackluster as it may have been) - 34 - Think what you will
    Byrd 2 - 35 - Think what you will
    Mercer - OLD

Yes wlad has beat other decent names but these are the main ones that make up his legacy so far...

come on... if your ragging on the age of those fighters given the general age of the top heavyweights... i cant help but think your reaching a bit.

i think magoo said the average was 34 years of age was the average?

and that is so bad that hes getting ragged on it for? 34 years old? i must be missing something.... isnt wlad himself 33 years old? so next year he will be old?

not to mention... what were the records of his comp?

brock, undefeated... peter, undefeated... Sultan, undefeated titleholder... byrd, titleholder.... ect.

    give me a break guys...

you wanna compare that to other fighters? lets take the sports number one p4p...

de la hoya - mid 30's
    baldomir - mid 30's
    hatton - 29
    sharmba - late 30's
    gatti - mid 30's

i could go on and on...

    should we do someone else?

    how about cotto?

    Mosley - 35
    Judah - 30'ish
    urkal - Mid 30's
    quintana - 30'ish
    branco - mid 30's

i could go on and on...

    should i continue?

so you pick out wlad... ok... hes fighting whos around him who he needs to fight, just so happens the fighters that have established themselves at heavyweight are late 20's to mid 30's...

making way too much of a deal about this

They are old and in the top 10 during Wlad's reign, because competition is so poor, that most of these 35+ guys couldn't make names for themselves in the 90's when comp was better. Some examples are Ray Mercer, Chris Byrd, Donell Nicholson, Frans Botha, and Corries Sanders ( who beat Wlad ). All of these guys were prospects during the 90's, and likely near their peaks, but could not ascend to the top of the divison, because better fighters stood in their way. As soon as the crowds cleared, these guys were all of a sudden viewed as world beaters, and were there for the pickings for Wlad.

I know that it was a silly debate to begin with. His claim was so far away from reality, that nomally I would just ignore such an ignorant statement. I just felt like really blowing the issue up to expose these Wlad haters for the pathetic excuse for a "boxing fan" that they are.:good

    Don't forget to vote.:D

Apparently he preferred undefeated records, high ratings, and titles with them.

I also dont understand how you could say that Wlad fights old heavyweights when the prime age for a heavyweight is between 30-35. Wlad fought most guys in their prime or very close to it.

Many of you concidered Peter to be GREEN when he fought Wlad, so on one hand 34 year olds are too old and 26 year olds are too green, you just cant win with some of you.

They will use any angle to discredit Wlad. Notice how before Wlad fought Peter, they all claimed that Wlad would go nowhere near him, and that Peter would kill him? Then after Wlad beats Peter, Sam became an overrated fighter who wasn't that good to begin with? Then, Peter wins a few fights, and all of the sudden we are back to square one... they are saying that Peter will destroy Wlad and that Wlad won't go anywhere near him.:patsch

You could say that Wlad has built his legassy by beating old fighters if he had beaten James Toney, Oleg Maskaev and 2007 version of McCline. The reality is that Wlad has built his legassy by beating some young and some old fighters.

Kirk forgot to vote, and Haye admitted that he cast the wrong vote so I fixed those.

I like the way this is going. Especially consider WHO the posters were who voted for Magoo. Not one of them has any boxing knowledge, imo. They prove that opinion further by supporting such a baseless claim.
