Don't care. It's not up to you to buy into them or not, or to determine whether or not they are a sound metric. They are what is used, not your own calculations.

No, judging is subjective because it's based on a variety of factors.

CompuBox is "did the punch land in a scoring area and how many punches were thrown?" That doesn't mean the numbers are always correct, but they're not in the same realm of subjectivity. You count how many punches were thrown, you know the area in which scoring/landing takes place, and you record that. Certainly not perfect, but more straight-forward than judging.

For example, there is no ring generalship aspect to CompuBox. The punch landed in a scoring area or it did not.

I had it even with a couple of rounds that maybe I could have been convinced went the other way. Doesn't matter though. Ward punched Kov in the face, rattled him and proceeded to finish him, something Kovalev was unable to do on the one occasion in the first fight he was able to stun Ward. SOG legit owns those belts.

Doesn't factor in how hard the punch lands, that matters.

And the fight just finished... Did you confirm these numbers?

Again, punch stats don't tell the whole story. Don't treat it as gospel, more like fun fact. Or a potential research tool when looking for trends.

CompBox is not supposed to tell you how hard the punches where that landed. I understand your point, but that doesn't make CompuBox more subjective because they don't tell you how hard the punches were that landed. It's just a metric.

The numbers I am using were those given during the HBO broadcast and from ESPN during/after the fight (all of them via CompuBox, I would imagine). So, if the numbers are wrong then they are at fault.

As yet, I have not seen a full CompuBox readout of the fight. Still waiting.

That was a close fight, I thought. Don't recall my exact scorecard. Floyd can have issues with pressure fighters, as we've seen at various times in his career.

    Castillo 1, Maidana 1, etc.

Also, one bad judging performance doesn't mean someone can't judge. Everyone can have a bad outing.

Your problem is that you don't know a whooping when you see one, just like Lederman.

I know a whupping when I see one. But I definitely didn't see one coming from Ward towards Kovalev in the first 7 rounds of the second fight.
