I share your definition of peak.

For prime I look at a man's best years. If they turn up out of shape, tough ****, their own fault.

So tyson i'd say 86-91. He underestimates douglas, tough tits.

Duran from 72-80. He doesn't train hard enough for jesus nor sugar, tough luck.

Poor training is no excuse and indicates mentality and discipline issues.

Fair enough poor & dreadfully poor training is all their own fault, & indicates poor mentality & discipline at that particular time/s (& obviously, even choosing a horrendously incompetent, unqualified & utterly unless corner is all their own fault too), but what if, like in my example, a fighter is in significantly better Physical condition in relation to their best potential condition, while Past-Prime, in comparison to an instance/s when they were Prime (e.g. fast & explosive condition vs. sluggish & listless condition)... do you still only evaluate them based on when their body was biologically "Prime", & consider that always more relevant in fantasy match-ups?

I think Tyson is a good example of what your talking about. He can go from looking poor to incredible to poor again.

How do you think fighters fighting up an down to opposition ties in with their primes, peaks and condition for the fight.

Some one like Holyfeild seems to have pockets of top performances scatterd through his resume but can often looks poor between them.

Outside of prime they get the benefit of doubt.

I.e. Tyson gets huge credit for steamrolling golota but I don't hold the holyfield losses against him.

Hopkins gets huge credit for beating pavlik and pascal but if he loses to dawson I won't hold it against him.

Same preprime. I don't hold any loss against jersey joe before 45.

Guys get the benefit of the doubt if they aint prime. Win-win: credit the victories and hold not the losses against them.
