ACcomplishment has nothing to do with it. If you dominate the crappy heavyweight division does not mean you should be in p4p consideration. I personally take the p4p rating literally, if the fighter was the same size who would win. A fighters record should only be taken into consideration of skill. it was never created because of heavyweight dominance, it was coined after SRR who many consider the best fighter of all time. Heavyweights with real skill can be in the rankings but not one heavy today should even be close.
simply put, no it is not. if a fighter is a 6'6 he is a tall heavy and he would fight like that, 5'6 might be considered a tall flyweight. if the flyweight weight was increased to the same weight as the heavyweight's, ad******g for size, speed and etc who would win? I think that is a better measure than accomplishments because if one division is full of bums at this time (lets imagine that it is the heavyweight division for argument sake) and the other is deep and pack with talent which dominate champ should be considered higher? or for that matter an alphabet champ, or top contender in the packed division could have more skill than the dominate champ, but not have the chance to take over the division. why should the clumsy lumber giant who only knows how to do a a basic 1-2 be considered a better fighter because of his padded record against a bunch of bums who only happen to be worse than he.
what about strength, chin, stamina, heart... all those things are important and have nothing to do with skill.
I should have said skill and talent my bad. it does no gppd if you have all the skill in the world if you do not have the Heart to get in the ring or if you have all the natural talent in the world but it is not trained properly
HUH? Are you a dumb Klit fan therefore someone who does not care about boxing skill and talent . . .hahaha
That's the thing for me right there. The Human wont scale in any way that you can really estimate let alone that persons newly found physique, heart rate, reflexes, balance etc and their effects on their boxing ability. Pacman could scale to become Arreola. I certainly don't believe it but I've got no way to disprove it. Their skillsets wont scale either. Higher weight divisions get a raw deal when it comes to the lists too. The lighter champs look faster, more graceful in their actions and this leads to people over estimating their ability . Anyone can look like a skilled swordsmen when swinging a Sabre but try doing it when swinging a two handed great sword because that's what the heavies contend with. This difference in power and its associated dangers also has an general effect on fighting styles as the weights go up and alot of people don't take this into account when making their estimations.
Not a great comparison. Adamek has better KO ratio at HW than Pacquiao at WW. Adamek: 6 fights (2 KOs) 33% KOs Pacquiao: 4 fights (1KO) 25% KOs And to be honest, the KO over Cotto wasnt even a KO, because referee stopped the fight in the last round, as Cotto was still on his feet.
Well this is wrong... U can compare boxer skills from lower weightclass to HW.. Hw's take much more risk, and cant be as fast.. If Wlad was at lightweight, he would have to train some other skills. Again if Paq becomes a HW he cant rely on his speed because of his weight. Also he would proberly be tired faster. Its really impossible to rate the best p4p. The only way, is if a HW fighter got KO skills and are as fast as a Light (maybe like Ali)... Paq could loose allot of skills if he became a HW.. Man i dont know.. The only reason i think Paq is the p4p best atm, is simply because this boxing era lacks good competesion!
