Yeah, I think he would have a very good case if that happened. It could happen too. Of course all of this depends on the showings, what I see etc.

I think he already has a case.

Which guys, from 1-10 on my list, should he be above?

    :scaredas:

I'm all for elevation based upon skillset...but that may be pushing things.

Tell me what he does with Pac.

    Seriously

    1) JMM should be below Calzaghe, Cotto, somewhere between #4-#6
    2) Rafael Marquez below top 10
    3) Klitschko, Haye, Abraham, Campbell.... above Mosley, Williams, De La Hoya, Montiel, Margarito ... somewhere #10 ... #14

    Somethings like that:

    1 - Manny Pacquiao
    2 - Joe Calzaghe
    3 - Miguel Cotto
    4 - Israel Vasquez
    5 - Juan Manuel Marquez
    6 - Kelly Pavlik
    7 - Christian Mijares
    8 - Ivan Calderon
    9 - Ricky Hatton
    10-Wladimir Klitschko
    11-David Haye
    12-Nate Campbell
    13-Rafael Marquez
    14-Joan Guzman
    15-Chris John
    16-Nonito Doniare
    17-Arthur Abraham
    18-Casamayor
    19-Shane Mosley
    20-Oscar De La Hoya
    21-Fernando Montiel
    22-Chad Dawson
    23-Mikkel Kessler
    24-Antonio Margarito
    25-James Toney

the list is decent, which is the best one can ask for really.

Correction: Any pound for pound list without Brian Minto in the top 10 is short sighted.

    It's fine aside from -

Calderon to high, Margarito to high, Campbell to low, Kessler to low and John/Nonito to high. The rest is on target, a few places rarely matter.

The ones I included with an asterix are the ones i'm puzzled about you as a poster choosing. I never thought you would be one sold on Kelly Pavlik, guess I was wrong. In my mind there is no way he can ever be justified at the moment in being in the top ten, despite some people here's lists. Hatton is not a top 15 player anymore, Donaire, whilst havign the skills it seems, can not be placed top 15 yet, and Margarito is a little too high for my liking. But then and again, all pound for pound lists are subjective, I just think your list is rather schizophrenic. You may think the same about my mines.

Alright chap? Haven't spoken to you in an age.

OK, Pavlik. Yes I am sold on him. I think he's one of the best in the world. He has a pretty fundamental style, but I was pleased with the Taylor II performance, not because he looked brilliant but because he beat a top 30 fighter in two different ways - he showed enough adaptability for me to be going on with. I think it would take Calzaghe to beat him at this point, although Hopkins would be an interesting test if the current buzz is accurate.

Hatton. You are being hard on him. He was 8, for me, when he took on the best in the world outside of his weight class, and for me that loss did not hurt him. OK, he looked less than brilliant last time out, and he has slipped very slightly on my list, but the man himself has admitted that he was feeling fear before that fight in a way that he never had before. He gets a pass (so that makes two - there won't be any more though) concerning what was, in the end, a good comeback.

Doniare is way to high. I've been admiring the guy and just felt like making some meatballs. I do think he is the most talented out of this new wave though, so I used the list to reflect that.

Juan Manuel Marquez - i feel i've covered this elsewhere in the thread, a couple of times.

Margarito - We'll find out for sure in a few days - he's definitely limited, but the fact is, i'd have to imagine him with wins over a LOT of the guys who would make my top 50 p4p that are currently active in the WW divsion. He perhaps hasn't proved he belongs quite that high, but at the moment he is hot, and personally I wouldn't make anyone other than Cotto a serious favourite to beat him at the moment.

Haye - I have concerns about his stamina and his chin. I think, mentally, he's adjusted to deal with these problems, if they exsist, but I'd like to see him tweak his style, too (though not as madly as Wlad has). Of course, if he can prove me wrong over the next couple of fights he'll go surging up off the back of his skillset.

Your hard on Calderon. If he properly adjusts to this new weight he's going to turn some heads.

John - maybe, he's sure as **** not been in with the right level of competition of late, but he has a win over my #2, and that must be taken into account as well. I think the position is justifiable.
