I'm pretty sure I would be willing to take that bet. I am extremely confident Povetkin wins this fight, but I would rather do an avatar bet or time-off bet
You must have something against living then to bet your life on that. Don't you have any respect in the art of boxing? It amazes me that some of you (who claim to be boxing fans) really donot know a damn thing about the sport or the skill.
Exactly. Peter would take this guy out pretty quickly. Oh, and then you'd hear all the Peter bashers talk about how unproven Povetkin was.......:yep
Don't kid yourself. Peter would come in fat again, which obviously has an effect on his stamina and punch resistance and would get stopped himself by a superior athlete. He came in 250 vs. a half dead shot Oleg and took 7 rounds to stop that china chinned example.
20 oz YOU are a JOKE ! on a thread for hardest punch ever you actually have the audacity to post peter over Williams :-( you are a true nuthugger thus the explination for your post. your just a fan and are basing your prediction on faith with know break down or aknowledgement of AP skills. if you are simply posing on faith becuse he's you favorite fight just say so. :good
I think that extra bulk might actually work in his favor against the smallish Povetkin. Peter has become VERY underrated since the McCline fight. Povetkin I'm not at all sold on.
If Peter came in against Povetkin in the same shape he came in against Maskaev, I can't see him lasting 12 rounds. Povetkin's constant pressure, workrate, much greater inside game, mental toughness/chin, and speed would be way too much for him. I'm surprised how many people still think Peter is a huge puncher and would knock out Povetkin just because Povetkin's defense isn't great. I think it's pretty clear now that Peter's power is nothing special, I would actually say that it's not significantly better than Povetkin's. I'm a big Maskaev fan, but I can admit that even though he has amazing heart, his chin has always been glass. Peter connected with a ton of flush shots on Oleg and he still couldn't put him down, which really says something about his power. Johnson, Sanders, and Whitaker KTFO'd him and two of those came from single punches. Peter's chin is also shaky and Povetkin punches from a lot of angles inside that he would get confused by and I could see him hurting Peter, then swarming him and taking him out. Peter has never fought a very good offensive-minded fighter and I think he would break down mentally against someone like Povetkin by the middle rounds. If Peter came into the fight in shape, it would be a much harder night for Povetkin, but I am still confident he would win. Peter could stick to a movement/jab gameplan well against an old Toney, but not a relentless pressure fighter like Povetkin, who would force him to fight on the inside, make him very uncomfortable, and take him off his game. In a war, I don't think Peter could outwill Povetkin and his stamina is clearly worse. Damn, I would love to see this fight.
Povetkin is a lot faster and is a far better boxer than Peter. He would box him cautiously for the first rounds like he did against Friday Ahunanya and than up the pace. Povetkin by a wide points margin or even a late stoppage.
Your damn right I picked Peter's left against williams as one of the hardest punches of all time , He bout put williams in a damn coma from one shot:tired
The only one advantage that Peter has over Povetkin is power. Povetkin is better at everything else. He will fight smart and outbox Peter easily, who has very poor defence. I can not see Peter landing any of his looping punches. Easy UD for Povetkin, not even a contest.
