ams/pros are two pairs of shoes. vidoz is clearly below sam wife-beater in pro-terms and povetkins (back of the head) chin is still unproven.

If Samuel comes into this fight in shape, I have no doubts in my mind that he would beat a tough oppenent in Povetkin, but thats a pretty big if, nowadays. His stamina issues and his overconfidence is starting to worry me a bit, I really thought the Mccline fight would be a wake up call for him, but that doesnt seem to be the case, if he comes in the same shape he did for Maskaev and Mccline, Povetkin has a pretty good chance of winning this one, if Peter shows up in the 245 or lower range, I see Peter getting him out of there in the 6th or 7th round.

I would take Povetkin he has better skills etc. Peter is slow, has no skill and is a flat footed stationary target. Peter will not have his belt for long.

Can you please stop bringing up the amateurs when discussing this matchup. It has no bearing on a potential fight between them in the pros.

Povetkin is the real deal but I think Sammy might just win here. Unlike Chagaev, Povetkin will be there to be hit. And Sammy hits too hard for you to just stay inside on him like that. He might not land with the accuracy of a Waldo Klitschko, but he's very heavy handed. The more chance you give him of landing the worse it's going to be for you.

Chagaev is really the only guy outside of an Eddie Chambers type who I could see beating Sam at this point. Chambers being someone who will make him miss and make him pay all night.

You're a delusional freak. We've been over this before. Maskaev did NOT hurt Sam Peter. It was a balance shot that landed on the shoulder.

I thank you for this post.

I am glad someone poited out that Chambers is a class act, and the fact that Povetkin had a difficult first few rounds is no shame, flu or no flu.

Chambers has a future at heavy or Cruiser.

    It does,brooklyn,it does!

Dont get me wrong! I quite agree with you that pro boxing is a different pair of shoes, and that a loss at the amteurs against a certain fighter doesnt nesserarily mean that amateur loser A stands no chance against amateur winner B.
    However,fighters are human beings,too.Intimidation,reputation,name recognition,fame,and a successful amateur back ground influence a fighter's psychology,too.
There are factors to be reckon with.Boxing is a mental game.
Povetkin was a superstar at the amateurs.Sam Peter didnt dare to cross Povetkin's shadow at the amateurs.Povetkin was the superpower then.Sam Peter was a nodoby then.Who do you think that the edge in confidence when they meet in a pro ring? That tiny psychological advantage may not be the decisive factor in an encouter between Peter and Povetkin, but you cant rule it out.
Thats why I tend to bring up the amateurs, brooklyn.
