Either way I fear I see the winner of Wladimir vs Sultan bring stripped for not fighting somebody.

Yeah, I suspect it will happen. The important thing is that somebody will have unified two belts, even if one of them gets dropped.

Just give Povetkin and Thompson some decent step-aside fee to fight each other - around $500.000 each plus the money of a purse bid split...

Chambers doesn't hit as hard as Byrd, and he isn't as elusive nor mobile. Povetkin will sit on his shots more than he did for the Byrd, and will time Eddie so that when Sasha throws the jab and Eddie pulls back he can follow up with a straight right down the pipe. He will also rip his body in a way that Chambers has never dealt with before. Povetkin by TKO.

Its hard to tell if Klitschkos next fight after Iggy will be the winner of Povetkin/Chambers, but most likely. Afterwards it might me Thompson, but hopefully it will be Chagaev if he still holds the belt by then.

I gotta admit this happened sooner than I thought. Just not to long ago they announced an elimination between Chambers, Povetkin, Byrd, Brock, and here we are.

Chambers definitely hits harder than Bryd, his jab got pop, just ask Brock. Chambers will lose this fight, but not by that wide of a margin. I see Brock getting his jab in early, but the more effective shots will be landed by Povetkin which in the end will win him the decision.

Absolutely. Chambers is grossly overrated. I'm not sold on Povetkin, but all Chambers is, really, is a poor man's Chris Byrd.

Yes, but can Povetkin escape Max Kellerman's analysis? HBO has a chance to properly hype a most deserving contender with an outstanding amateur track record, and rapid career advancement.

I give Chambers a better chance than most seem to be, but I'd still give the nod to Povetkin. Makes sense that HBO would pick this up since the winner fights Wlad.

You never know how things will work out in boxing until they do but I'd expect Wlad to face Thompson by summer and the winner of Chambers-Povetkin later this year. No matter who wins this bout its nice to see a fresh face in the title mix instead of the constant and usually undeserving retreads.

I'm very glad to see that this is on HBO, but disappointed that it's going to be in Germany. I hope Larry Merchant takes the flight out there instead of Max Kellerman. He will have a new favorite HW.

Eddie Chambers is a pretty ordinary fighter who doesn't pose any real threat to Povetkin. Povetkin mid-late TKO Chambers, unless he turns out to be really tough or has a great chin.

No way, Chambers is fast but he's an out-of-shape slob & Povetkin is a machine. Eddie sucks defense wise & Sasha will pound him every time he drops his hands.

    Povetkin by TKO late.

I really don't see Povetkin losing this. Chambers isn't as clever as Byrd or as leery as Donald. Povetkin's punches will find him. My only concern for Pov is whether or not he'll cut. Chambers isn't a power puncher at all, but its like his gloves have razors in them. He has cut the last three fighters he has fought, Brock, Guinn, and Rossy. Rossy's was particuarily bad.
