I have a thorough dislike for the way the vast majority of his fans act on this forum, I have never hidden that, but that does not impact on my rating of him as a fighter.
You are mistaken, I don't recall ever saying that. If you had ever read some of my posts on Calzaghe's ability when I'm not having to deal with idiots like C_H_J, Pugilist etc wh are saying he'd beat Muhamma Ali or whatever dog**** it is that day, you would not have such a gripe with me. I rate Joe for what he is, a talented boxer who never made the most of that talent, as he never fought a high enough standard of opposition in his career.
I voted against Calzaghe in a public poll and when asked why, I said it was because I always vote against him in polls because I dislike his fans. They all vote irrationally in every poll for their Joe without considering the topic at all, so I always vote against him to counteract that as best I can. That was all I said, there was certainly no admission that I cannot be objective, I don't know where you've dreamt that up from. Oh, and I did not make the thread in question, it was not my poll. I do not hold Joe's resume to a higher standard, I hold it to the exact same standard as I hold everyone. I do not think it is as good as (from his own era) the resumes of Lewis, De La Hoya, Barrera, Morales, Hopkins, Jones, Toney, Trinidad, etc. I think it is better than Naseem Hamed's resume, and (and I have taken severe criticism for this in the past) I think right now it is better than Shane Mosley's. IMO.
