I should have stated a bit of a breakdown. Indeed, I rather hear people's breakdowns & predictions rather than just their predictions. Good post, SL!
Think there must of been about 10 posters left who knew what that meant now I'm back to the start again
Lacy was already dead and gone he was just a tough guy by the time I supported him. Think I started a Lacy express one day in the general it was basically a bike I was made a fan after the beating he took by JC then he tore his rotor cuff in the next fight and fought on even if he deserved to lose Slip thought it meant Left hand Lead I should of told him yes that time.
I was just a bit surprised, that's all. Didn't think he had many fans, particularly british ones. Fair play to ya. Does anyone know what the big fights are tonight, if any?
I have a thing for picking fighters who are either shite or mentally ******ed. I'm a Cintron fan as well even though he keeps dragging himself through the mud with some of the **** he does. ESPN looks good tonight the series really needs to kick on this year been poor match making so far.
I think Maidana can out work and over power Alexander, land his right hand alot, and rough him up, so long as he is the same force as a full blown welterweight, if he isnt quite the same, I think Alexander will box cautiously to a points decision. Its a 10 rounder which I think suits Alexander, and it means Maidanas gonna have to come out working from round 1, so I say if Maidana fits the weight and carrys his power right, hel outwork devon maybe stop him, if he doenst fit the weight ( which im worried he wont ) then Alexander will box to a decision.. Edit: Another thing this is a very serious fight for these two, the looser is gonna have to work really hard to get back to the top of the pack while the winner is right back in the mix of things..
I think 147 will suit Maidana, he's looked half dead at 140 since he fought Khan, and has gassed late in fights. The ten round distance probably suits both, given that Maidana is a high energy fighter and Devon is quite weak and can fade late. What sways me towards Maidana here is that Alexander lets you know in advance when the jab is coming, and can be tagged with the right hand regularly. To me the key to beating Maidana is to establish the jab and force him to keep resetting, given that his footwork is beyond bad. It's difficult to realistically make a comparison between Maidana and anything that Devon has fought thus far.... whereas Maidana has faced a few ''technical'' fighters (I know Alexander isn't a brilliant technician but it's the bracket he fits in) with varying degrees of success, and has a stoppage win over a bigger, stronger, harder punching southpaw in Ortiz. After getting my fingers burnt to the tune of £50 with the Matthysse fight I'll leave this alone, but Maidana by stoppage would be my selection.
****, I knew it, Maidana looks awful... http://www.***********.com/photos-alexander-maidana-broner-perez-ripped-ready--49964
