Its something where you lay down to run, crazy yes. if you dont know anything about physiology, and neurology, suppose it is. :D. If you know anything about the mechanics of a central heating system you might get it if not look up venous return, it will help the investigation. Highway to everything is through the Heart :D. Body produces 35% more lactic than overground running, whiletheres no impact on the spine or legs and hips. All the energy systems work 35% more efficient. While improving lactic shuttle, just a few things, all been tested at Sheffield Hallam sports science department, biggest sports science department in europe. :D

Explain how running does not make one's leg muscles stronger.

I think it builds leg strength but all that running probably leans you out and makes you lose mass. I'm not an expert on this. Yeah, sprinters have bigger legs.

Had a phone call this morning, from the Husband,of a Lady I work with, a triathlete. She ran a half iron man over the weekend. Also in the race there was a G/B squad doing a relay, each was doing there event which they excelled at.the lady has a full time job and two kids. We do very little actual running, yet won the race also beating each individual G/B squad members time, the news blew me away. So it makes you query, some beliefs. :D

I said if a doctor advised him not to run, he shouldn't run. Discomfort does not mean injury, nor does it lead to injury. It's discomfort.

Try boxing without pushing through pain. Just make sure you're on the level of PBF or RJJ so no opponent ever causes you any.

A lot of people like shortcuts. I find those who take them aren't ready for the long haul.

    But it goes into injury.
Pushing through the pain is often a not so good idea, mentally yes it can be, but physically it can do you a lot of harm.
And just for the record you dont have to run to box.

Discomfort in general as in harder to breath, muscles aching etc okay. But the guy said he gets discomfort in his knees and hips. Pain around joints is a completely different matter.

So your thinking is that all of your training should be just as painful as being punched in the face? :huh

You can do very good training without any pain whatsoever. Strange I know.

So avoiding injury in training = shortcuts. Makes sense :good

wearing out your joints and your body can do you no good in the long term. There is a different between fatigue pain or getting hit pain and body pain. There have been some days, where I just can't run. Happens more often in the cold when I get foot pain.

It's okay, smartass... I'll let you do some research into it. It's not that difficult to work out.
