Because a Prescott fight is a lose-lose situation. The two have gone in opposite directions since, and Prescott now becoming a faded memory. A win will do nothing for his development, or to please his critics. Khan's got more important things to worry about - mainly Timothy Bradley. The Khan that fought Maidana would lose to Desert Storm, and he needs to iron out alot of deficiencies. He's better off fighting someone who'll allow him to prepare for opponents with higher skill.

What you say is true and Khan should fight Peterson. That is the best preparatiin for Bradley even though he is a dangerous choice.

Who can he fight in Britain who would bring as much to the table (money)as Prescott, baring someone like Hatton? everyone! in Britain probably knows who Prescott is.

Beating a guy who rail roaded his career wont prove something to his critics? in the mind of casual fans, Prescott is still the man who knocked him out, and so regardless whats happened since, he's capable of doing it again in their eyes.

If only Prescott wins against the like of Maidana, then Khan will be forced to face him again.

Lennox beat every guy he faced and it's rare that someone even gets a change to avenge their loses. Why wouldn't Khan sacrifice three month of his probably very long career to do the same? Next best thing after being undefeated.

Who is concerned about Amir's development? wouldn't you have to have a vested interest in wanting him to do well to be concerned about something like that, rather than just wanting to see a potentially intriguing fight against a guy who's already beaten him?

No fight is bigger, makes more money in Britain for Amir Khan, than Prescott, surely you agree with that? aside from Hatton of coarse.

Maidana is not Prescott though. Critics will always ask questions of your credentials, rightly or wrongly, more so when you have'nt faced the guy who knocked you out, especially casual fans.

Oh there isn't dont get me wrong, but have to understand, not everyone is a fan, that there first porter call might be watching the perceived most dangerous competitive fight, of coarse you could argue back and fourth about whether it is! a dangerous fight, but the man has knocked Khan out.

I bring up the money, cause fans of fighters they want to win, like to use the money issue as and when it suits them, like if a guy is perceived to be too dangerous, he doesn't bring enough money to the table, now thats not the case with Prescott, so fans can take the other route, which is to recite his recent performances to prove he's not viable, but it can be as much about protecting their interest(agenda), than anything else.

Nothing against you, you seem like a good guy, I would just like to see this fight. I would like to see Khan fight Bradley to, but if he's taking a tune up, why not take a guy that your fans apparently think its a foregone conclusion that you'll beat, a guy who can make you a lot more money than McCloskey?

Like I said, I don’t really care about money. I just want to see Khan become a more complete fighter. A tune-up involving Peterson, Judah, or a McCloskey, will help do this.

khan prescott would be a great fight. and as a pre fight before Bradley/Alexander it would be amazing.

But we cant knock him for not taking it. Even Khan knows its very high risk. Prescott sparked khan out in a minute.
He's still a young fighter he doesn't owe us this fight after the maidana one. And I for one am not going to criticize him for not taking it.

But at the same time i'd like him a lot more if he did.

Or if avenging a loss is as important as Prescott makes out, how about going back to find Vasquez and Mitchell?
