Manchester has a high ethnic mix and is one of the mot liberal cities in the UK. Moss Side, Longsight, Hulme are Huge Afro Carribean areas with their own identity and culture. We have the largest China Town in the country I believe, and the largest Gay area in the city centre. To state we are racist is yet another inaccuracy. We do have Chavs/Wiggers/Scallies (call them what you will) but let me tell you this, the majority of us Mancunians despise that side of culture and grow tired and weary of it day after day.

Chav is a bad word it comes from slang "to chav" which is to steal something. The 10-15K "fans" are no more fans of the sport than townie drunkards with national pride. I'd be willing to wager half of those "fans" have never even seen a fight that didn't involve someone from the UK. English sporting "fans" are just pub crawlers who like an excuse to go out, be loud and drunk. They don't follow the sport at all.
