It's morbid to discuss this tbf, but I reckon they'd get away with not having to pay out because it's reckless endangerment of his own life. You just have to take one look at what Povetkin did to Duhaupus, it was a frightening KO.
Will be awesome seeing 3 of the top 5 heavyweights all on 1 card. Hearn has come through in getting Povetkin to agree to this, I bet it wasn't cheap either, Povetkin wouldn't agree to this unless he was getting paid at least what he's getting in Russia. Sure it's not exactly a great match up but Povetkin was never going to take anyone on that was too dangerous with his mandatory to protect. This is all about building AJ/Povetkin for later in the year, which means Povetkin facing a Brit fighter and with Whyte already fighting and protecting his own number 1 ranking, Haye and Bellew fighting each other, Fury coming off a defeat and looking to rebuild, Price and Chisora were the only name Brits left at heavyweight he could fight. I wish it was Chisora though, that would of been entertaining.
I actually think Big Dave should come out throwing bomb after bomb for 2 rounds then do a Tony Bellew and quit. If he lands, there is every chance the Juiced One could go.
Povetkin is nearly 39 and only knocked one person out in nearly 3 years i think? Write Price off at your peril!
At the Chambo-OKTFOlie open workout Helder asked Eddie a few questions about this fight. And Eddie kept referring to it as a no-lose situation for Price, focusing only on the impact of a win or defeat for Price's career. As someone pointed out earlier, Price fought scared shitless against Sokolowski and arguably drew on points. It's actually disgraceful he's been put in with Povetkin he will get brutally knocked out.
