I just think Lewis would be just to big for Ali to handle, add to that Lewis's excellent jab and Ali would've found himself on the wrong end of a decision. A great fight all the same.

Never saw Lewis take on a slickster with type of speed, footwork, jab, stamina, chin or ring acumen that Ali had. Was there even anyone else like him?? Lennox specialty was taking apart the bigger slower moving hitters like Golata, Ruddock, Mason, Grant, Briggs, etc..

Why do people ignore Larry Holmes when they say there was no one else like Ali? Some even say Holmes might have been a better version of him with an even better jab, though I don't think he had Ali's chin. Holmes could be knocked out though, not sure Ali could.

Prime Larry Holmes vs Lennox Lewis would have been a good matchup too.

Okay fine, but did Lennox Lewis ever fight someone with that description?

I woudn't expect Lewis to give a prime Ali much trouble at all, to be honest.

Ali checks his chin and finds glass.

Cassius Clay beats any heavy weight in any era in a 15 round bout. Lewis is a great champion and one of my favorite heavy weights, but he would not be able to land a single right hand on Cassius Clay.

Lennox was never good at controlling the tempo of the fight and sometimes he opted out of the action playing it safe once he was hit hard to the head or body. History shows this was wise, as he had two 1 punch KO's in short fights when the other man hardly landed much aside from the knockout punch.

Wlad's jab, footwork, and master of range can control a fight all by itself, and he has faster hands and a much better left hook. Wlad's guard and defense are impressive too.

I somewhat think Lewis opted out vs Byrd and Ruiz because they were good boxer types, who might make him look bad.

Good point. Ali would beat Wlad, as well.
