The first few times I watched it I had Barrera winning, but now I always get Morales winnng by two rounds. But that's how brutal boxing is, Barrera deserved to win too, Morales did too, and they both gave it their EVERYTHING, and when Barrera lost, it just seemed so unfair and so brutal. Just look at the pain in Barrera's face when they announced the Winner.
.........and to top it off, they really hated each other!!! I think one reason why they have very exciting trilogy!!!
Good post... I had my brothers tape the fight for me so they watched it before me & when I asked about it, they both said Barrera well won it, he was robbed..... After I watched it, I asked them if they had watched the same fight as me or if they only listened to the commentary. Of course over time, they both agree it was super close. I personally gave Morales 7 rds but have no probs with anyone giving it to Barrera as long as they dont say anyone won clear or big because that simply is false, it was a hard to score, close, competitive, brutal, beautiful fight. :good
Barrera/Morales 1 was a great, great fight. Made me fall in love with boxing again. I can watch it again and again, the same with Barrera/Morales 3. Vasquez/Marquez trilogy just as good too IMO.
My favorite fight of all time. Blows me away watching those two cats in their rime go toe to toe. The action was unbelievable, but so was the skill level of both of their work. It wasn't scrappy action, it was quality action. If I ever feel I'm falling out of love with Boxing, I'll watch Morales/Barrera I.
