I'd pick Hopkins to win a 8-4, 7-5 type of fight, but can he win a decision against Canelo's judges? Hopkins is not knocking out Canelo, so it'll all comes down to the decision.
For me the only result in his career I disagree with is GGG 1, and only by a round, but people find more and more decisions they dislike every day and that's what I'm referring to.
The ggg fights were at 160 Canelo was barley peaking in the rematch, At 168 hes at his best and hasn't had one close fight.
I'm not sure what the problem is here! I love Canelo but Bernard Hopkins was pretty good in his day too.
Canelo struggled with Lara and got schooled by an old Floyd but people on here are confidently predicting he'd beat Hopkins who was bigger, stronger and more powerful than those 2. I'm not ruling out a possible robbery on the scorecards or that Canelo could make it close but the sensbile pick IMO is Bore-Hop
No problem here, my point is Canelo is now at his peak and hasn't had close fights at 168 for people to be saying he needs controversial decisions, Yes Hopkins is a true ATG, unlike ggg Hopkins moved up to dare to be great when he saw the MW divsion was getting weak.
Those fights happen years ago he has gotten way better Canelo destroys Lara at 168, Lara won't make it past 5 rounds.
For sure. Hopkins would be head butting, elbowing, hitting low, ... The dude knew every trick and would use them all.
