Bowe big time. Quarry wasn't a true heavy and was too much a brawler. Don't bring a knife to a gunfight.
Quarry was a legit heavyweight........ Fighting between 196 to 207 pounds makes him legit....... But he was small and not strong enough to hang with Bowe........ Quarry would've been considered a monster for Rocco Marciano...... Freaky.... MR.BILL
If bowe uses his tremendous physical advantages to jab and throw combos from outside, he wins easily, either on cuts or a late round tko. If he chooses to slug it out with quarry then he puts himself at risk. Quarry was a big puncher and in a toe to toe slugfest he would have a chance. It would be bowes fight to win or lose.
I think Chris is pretty accurate here ... the Bowe that beat Holyfield the first time is too much for Jerry ...
Quarry is one of my favorite fighters. But I think the Bowe that handed Holyfield his first loss, might beat the Quarry who knocked out Mac Foster, more than 9 out of 10 times. I haven't thoroughly analyzed Bowe yet. So my beliefs may change.
Frazier threw 47 punches a round during his peak, the first Ali fight. Now, this was 15 rounds so he probably could throw a few more under 12 round rules. Bowe usually averages round 60 per round, which is quite a lot, though that probably includes more jabs than Frazier's stats do.
Bowe would stop Quarry in four rounds.......if he's in shape.Otherwise, I think Quarry could take a close decision verdict.
Bowe is not Lyle, he can box. He doesn't have to, he'll out-size and out-slug Quarry if he desires either way.
Size, strength, power, all around skills...I don't give Quarry a single advantage outside of speed, which he didn't reliably use for whole fights. Bowe literally walks and tear Jerry down. 8 rounds, max.
